Mahadana Ubud

There was no mirror in the room only the bathroom. There were dressing gowns which was a lovely touch but were very very small. The fruit and tea for breakfast was fine but the pancakes and croissants were not very nice at all.

Tijdens ons 6 daags verblijf hebben we 1 dag warm water gehad voor de rest altijd koud water.

Warning to future guests:
We arrived at Mahadana Ubud with a valid Booking.com confirmation and proof of payment, yet were told by the hotel that they had no record of our booking.

Staff asked us to pay again if we wanted to stay, despite the booking already being paid in full. We contacted Booking.com immediately while at the property and they told us not to pay again, but the hotel still refused to honour the confirmed reservation.

As a result, we were unable to stay and were left without accommodation on arrival. No alternative solution or meaningful assistance was offered. Instead, the hotel had claimed that booking.com had advised the hotel that we were required to pay again - this was not true.

If you book this property through a third-party platform, be aware that your confirmed reservation may not be recognised on arrival. I would strongly recommend confirming directly with the hotel beforehand or choosing alternative accommodation.

We had one day cold water - for me fine but for my partner a problem.

The room I stayed had some plumbing issues at the shower area. have to be careful when climbing up to the hotel due to narrow and slippery steps

False advertising. We booked a Superior Room with Balcony and were given a ground floor room with a mini terrace. Balcony implies it is on the first or higher floors.
Had we booked a cheaper room or as they wanted, requested the first floor then we would have had a balcony. This was not clear on booking.com

This property also only takes payment on site and not through Booking.com.

There was lots of construction working going on less than 5m from the pool. We did not fly halfway around the world to be in a construction zone on both days we were there. I strongly suggest avoiding this property until they fix all the issues.

The tap in the bedroom leaked all over the floor.
The shower nozzle was so high and at a bad angle that the bathroom floor would get wet and as its tiled was very slippery, no mats provided.

The stairs leading to the property are all different hights and its easy to misstep. There is no slip proof measures taken either so in the massive downpour we had to be extremely cautious not to fall.

The biggest issue was that even though all these problems were there, had we cancelled and rebooked a few days before we would have the property for over $60 cheaper. Zero communication about there being ongoing construction work. Imagine trying to relax by the pool and all you hear is drilling...

Everything was great!

There's alot of great potential for this place. The room is great, very clean and comfortable and the pool view is stunning! Location was also perfect, great to walk everywhere, just be aware you do have to climb some steep stairs to get up to the stay and many grabs didn't see where our place was but very worth it as it makes your stay more quiet and peaceful. The only biggest downside was the staff. They were nice but there was a huge language barrier, given but it is expected that they'd have some basic english to communicate requests which wasn't there, and even using Google translate was tough with them as they still weren't understanding us. It made our stay less enjoyable as they weren't able to understand basic requests.
