Das Personal sehr nett
Es war nicht so sauber, das Bad war dreckig, die Möbel (Bett) kaputt
The hotel is right on the river and forest so you can see and hear monkeys and gibbons. The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I did a one day hike to see the elephants with the hotel and it was an amazing experience, well worth it.
One power outlet meant choosing between the fan or charging devices. Simple fix would be a multi adapter.
The people who got our room ready couldn’t have been nicer and when we got up the next day, we had a great view of the river and the rainforest.
We arrived late at night and were very consisted
Beautiful location, room and facilities were basic, but clean.
The hosts were friendly and t
hey organised all the activities.
Options for food was limited, but always good.
Tangkahan is a little gem, out of the beaten paths where you feel you have the jungle for yourself.
Seeing the elephants in their habitat and walking with them in the jungle was exceptional.
The value for the price was great.
No hot water in the bathroom, but it is not really needed, given the weather.
Bring your towels, the towels made by chenille were clean but not really doing the job.
I liked that it is a very small village but possibly the friendliest village I’ve ever visited! The A frame rooms are comfortable enough- the standard room with mountain views are very basic but do the job. The staff are fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed a river rafting half day adventure including lunch with Pandi- the river is beautiful to swim in and explore. Green Forest arranged our late airport pick up from Medan- we stayed 3 nights and that was the perfect amount of time to experience Tangkahan.
Nothing- it’s a little rustic but wonderful
The location was amazing especially for the price
Nothing not to like
Great location for tubing and time spent on the river. Accommodation is in a quiet little village with a lot of new places going up. We didn’t see any suitable places to eat that were open so we ate in house each night, the restaurant was ok.
We were initially housed in a room above the restaurant block which was very dark in decor and generally pretty grim. Our bathroom had a leak and we were immediately upgraded to a single bungalow unit which was much nicer accommodation, fresh and comfortable though not as cheap in price, still ok on our budget.
Pandy is a real gem, an attentive host and fun guide. We had a great time with him, tubing down the river, he took us to some beautiful spots and we had these places to ourselves. He made a real difference to our stay and we enjoyed his company.
Rooms in the restaurant block are overdue some TLC.
The location was nice and calm, except for the weekend. They offer guided tours and also taxi service. We were very satisfied with our tours and our guide. It was a perfect stay.
Good stay for 2 persons, and with nice view

The manager is very kind and friendly, and also smiles a lot.. not stingy with information about places to visit there too.. The food in the restaurant is also very delicious, rate 8/10 for all the menus we ordered while in Tangkahan. I highly recommend this accommodation as a temporary place to stay if you visit Tangkahan 🫰
Mhmm nothing.. everything is 10/10
We recently spent 5 nights at Green Forest during and just after Eid, and our stay was absolutely delightful.
• The hosts and guides could not have been any nicer. They went out of their way to make everything possible—whether it was arranging a fishing trip, taking care of laundry, or fulfilling any food request. Just ask, and they will help!
• This family-run establishment truly makes you feel at home. The staff are all warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Pandi and his wife Julie, an excellent cook who prepared delicious meals (we even had omelettes for around £1!).
• We enjoyed an unforgettable jungle trek led by the fantastic guide, Mendi. Along the way, we encountered Tamosleaf monkeys, elephants, swam in hot springs, and a river.
• The property itself is teeming with life, from cats and chickens to friendly dogs wandering around the village, all set against a backdrop of a lovely river and stunning views.
Our visit left us English guests feeling truly welcomed—even as minor visitors! If you appreciate nature and want to explore the national park, this is absolutely worth the visit. Remember, this is the jungle, so come with an open mind and immerse yourself in the unique experience
The staff here were incredible at arranging our pick up, departure and excursions. Super friendly and helpful with good English and excellent communication. We arrived early and the water to the village had been cut off but everyone was super busy trying to get sorted. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was simple and delicious and the little bungalow was simple, cozy, spacious and excellent value for money. The view and location are incredible.
Our most amazing day was the excursion to the bat cave and tubing back down the river. The cave itself is not for the faint hearted, or even remotely claustrophobic. It's a very real and adventurous/ wild cave with crawling parts, overhanging rocks ,bats ,bugs and slippery floor. But ... there is a way out half way through if you have second thoughts... 😄.
The lunch was.beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The tubing, bonus hot spring cave and waterfall blissfully and incredible.
Overall an awesome place for the price.
The people 🥰
The location, next to the river.
The best guide
Very helpful 👌
We stay to short in Green Forest 😕
Quite place in an exceptional environment.
Panda was an incredible guide during the whole day. In the jungle he had a lot of experience and after that he brought me with local people to play volleyball.
Pandi, the manager Is great and help in many ways.
Location is Amazing.
Rooster in the morming waking me up.
Check the mosquito net, some have holes.
A very quaint setting. The staff were wonderful and Julie is a great cook. Bundy was very helpful. The beds were very comfortable and we liked the large room.
There was only one mosquito met and fan in the twin room. The chairs on the verandah were weak and dangerous. The bathroom must have been lovely at one stage but really need refreshing. The access to the room was uneven and slippery.
