The staff is nice and smiling, but communicating is not easy and English is very basic or unknown.
Restaurant is expensive compared to the rest of the island (and of Indonesia), the wait is over one hour if you don’t boo your dinner in advance and tell the staff at what time you want it.
Considering the price (again compared to other Indonesia and Sumba accommodations) they lack something.

Le resort est très isolé, ce qui ne nous posait pas de problème en soi. En revanche, cela nous a contraints à prendre tous nos repas sur place, midi et soir. Malheureusement, les plats se sont révélés mauvais et chers, avec en plus des délais d’attente excessifs (plus d’1h30 pour être servis).

Le personnel est aimable, mais le service manque de professionnalisme : par exemple, le plateau de notre petit-déjeuner est resté toute la journée devant notre bungalow, et nous avons dû nous rendre à la réception pour qu’il soit débarrassé.

Enfin, si le resort a pu organiser notre transfert depuis l’aéroport, il n’a pas été en mesure de nous trouver un chauffeur pour rejoindre notre hôtel suivant à l’ouest de l’île. Le chauffeur attitré étant déjà réservé, aucune alternative ne nous a été proposée. Nous avons donc dû chercher nous-mêmes un taxi, ce qui est particulièrement compliqué dans un endroit aussi isolé.

Not the most beautiful beach of Sumba but convenient to visit some nice parts of the island

It seems that there is no sense of hospitality. When we wanted to order something, while lying at the pool, we always had to go to the personnel. After we finished drinks, we waited forever and then brought the empty glasses to personnel and ordered again. The whole day was like this, the same with plates after we ordered some food. The staff doesn’t speak English at all so to communicate, even with translation app, was extremely demanding. They were smiling and polite but no one cleaned our room even once (3 nights stay), once we asked in Indonesian to get fresh towels, we received them.
No tourist information, no guides possibilities, we received a phone number for a scooter rental, the guy never replied.
Moreover, there were some cigarettes butts on the terrace at the restaurant/pool area for all 3days, happily lying there untouched. Dead flies in the shower gel in our bathroom were the cherry on the cake.

Some people might not like it because it’s very isolated; you’d need a car to go anywhere, though the resort will lend -with some cost- their car and driver to somewhere close. It takes a while to get your ordered food. It could also do with some offered activities.
