Breakfast was OK...better first morning..
Room v small..awful view from window..didnt even have a chair
Location was good pity there was no onsite parking.
Room quite small. Weak shower. Good that there was a fan in the bedroom.
We particularly missed having a buffet at breakfast for first course. Food was delicious but far too much of it and we would have taken less if it had been a buffet. As it was we ended up leaving a lot of food which we don't like doing.
see above.
Kinsale needs to sort out its traffic situation. Too many cars parked all over the place detracted from the beauty of the town.
Room was big, but it was expensive. Very well kitted out with lots of mod cons and toys.. air fan was a big hit with the American cousin! Breakfast was very nice, although it was very slow to land out, but worth the wait. Bar nice, good atmosphere, staff knew their stuff, cocktails etc... Staff on Reception were lovely good banter and very helpful.
It was pricey for 1 night. Brekkie was slow, but when it came it was nice.
Although the location is on the main street this is a VERY tired hotel. Travelers should note that there is no lift so you will be carrying bags up several flights of stairs (which were being painted when we were there). Although bedding and towels were clean, the carpet, window etc. were filthy and furniture very worn.
This was my second stay at Blue Haven and it lived up to my previous experience. Consistently high-quality food, comfortable accommodation, and friendly service. It’s become my preferred place to stay whenever I’m in Kinsale.
Schönes Hotel mit leckerem Esser. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Sehr zu empfehlen.
L’emplacement.
Location. Nicely appointed rooms.
Stayed here with family and had a fantastic experience. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The restaurant served delicious meals that everyone enjoyed, which is not always easy with a family group.
I got the burger & chips, burger was soggy & not cooked ,i couldn't eat it ,chips were hard in the centre,my partner got fish & chips fish tasted awful again his chips were hard , very disappointed as we normally to to jim Edwards thought we would try blue haven for a change ,we will not return
Pokoj krásný čistý , super lokalita a úžasný personál. Skvěle snídaně
Pro dva trochu menší postel a velmi měkká matrace , pokoj je hůře větratelný , ale na pokoji mají čističku vzduchu značky Dyson , takže chválím !!!!
We spent a weekend in Kinsale and couldn’t have picked a better location. Everything was within walking distance, and Blue Haven had a lovely atmosphere throughout. The food was outstanding, especially the seafood dishes. We’d happily return.
Reception staff were great
Breakfast staff poor non attentive
The food at Blue Haven was the highlight of our stay. Every meal felt carefully prepared, with fresh local ingredients and plenty of flavour. Breakfast was excellent and dinner exceeded expectations. The hotel itself was comfortable and well maintained, but the restaurant Rare alone is worth a visit.
Excellent location, fabulous food and the best customer service, in every department, that I’ve had in ages. Isla at front desk was super and the restaurant staff were wonderful. Housekeeping staff also so friendly and helpful.
For the money, the bedroom was really, really ‘tired’. And small! Mould (black)on the ceiling of the shower, water leaks out of shower, light over bathroom mirror not working… the room definitely let the hotel down.
Great location, nice staff & excellent breakfast.
Room was facing onto street and lots of noise until about 2am (Fri eve). Then at 7am was work men making loads of noise for about an hour or so with a truck. Poor nights sleep despite being in bed at midnight.
Painting being done in the hallways in the middle of June!! Could this not have been done all winter!!
Lovely hotel in the centre of the town. We stayed at The Blue Haven Hotel for 2 nights. What can I say ….. the staff were superb. We were very welcomed by the reception team on arrival. We dined in the Bar on the first night as their fine dining restaurant Rare was closed on a Monday. The food was delicious. To top off the night they had live music & the two guys playing were very good. The breakfast team in the morning were very friendly and got time to speak with all the guests.
The hotel was under refurbishment which all looks very exciting.
While we didn’t get the chance to dine in Rare on this occasion we will most definitely be back over the summer to The Blue Haven Hotel their fabulous hospitality again.
5 stars all round we will be back
Great Staff - Arrived late that staff were so helpful - even kept the kitchen open so that I could get something to eat - Everyone went out of their way to help - real hospitality!!
Nothing, everything was perfect
