the location is great you are right in the centre of the town and where you want to be ,lots of bars and reastaurants near by and with in easy access to you.
the food is just average ,breakfast is in a nice area pleasent surroundings but its just sort of ok ish nothing to get over excited on,rooms are clean but walls are paper thin and every noise from next door is to be heard
The location can not be beaten right in the centre of Monaghan town beside everything.

The location was perfect and the staff were very friendly. The reception area and cocktail bar, and our double window bedroom at the front of the hotel was also nice.
We appreciated being told on arrival that there was a Debs Ball taking place in the hotel that night and that we would see and hear them between 7-10pm and not after that as they kept them in a different part of the hotel. This turned out to be exactly the case. We observed the lovely dresses from our first floor front bedroom window when they arrived by bus, and were not disturbed at all later on in the night or next morning.
We were told the door might be difficult to open in our bedroom due to the new thick pile carpet. It was indeed hard to open but we didn't mind that. However, the carpet was wet in the central part of the room. We reported it, and were told that perhaps housekeeping had washed it. I don't know why a new carpet would need to be washed, but maybe there was a good reason. We couldn't walk around the room in socks as they got wet. They did offer to put in extra heaters while we were out, but we thought the room might get too hot to sleep in then.
There were brand new towels in our bathroom, which was nice, but everyone knows new towels need a wash before use. We couldn't really dry ourselves with them, and we laughed when we emerged from the bathroom covered in fluff!.

Our bedroom was at the front of the hotel (room 302), car horns, loud music, fighting outside our bedroom, didn’t get to sleep until 5.30am
