We had a comfortable stay over two nights.
Pros:

The buffet breakfast was very satisfying. The items tasted fresh .

The name deceived : it was no resort with no backwater or anything of natural scenic beauty in sight.

Unfortunately, my stay was below expectations due to multiple service and operational issues.
Pros:

Breakfast quality was good; however, the service could be improved. There were no timely refills, and we waited more than 10 minutes for appam. Additionally, coffee was not available during this time. We hope these aspects will be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience.

Cons:

Unfortunately, my stay was below expectations due to multiple service and operational issues. Wi-Fi was not available in both rooms (C6 and C2). Despite reporting the issue to reception, no corrective action was taken.

I checked in on the 21st to rooms C5 and C6, and the following day moved to room C2. Only one room key was initially provided for two guests, and despite requesting an additional key, it was never issued. The key card for room C2 was not functioning, which was reported, after which a metal key was provided.

As we were using the metal key, the card key was later misplaced inside the room, and I was charged INR 500 for the lost key card. As someone working with an international hotel brand, this was my first experience being charged such a high amount for a key card, which was quite disappointing.

Overall, the lack of follow-up, basic service failures, and unexpected charges significantly impacted the stay.”

Thank you for reaching out for our feedback. We recently stayed at Contour Backwaters Hotel Resort & Convention Centre from March 4 to March 14, and we’d like to share our experience.

The hotel offers spacious cottages, which provide a sense of privacy. Our cottage had two attached rooms with separate entrances, making it convenient. The sit-out area outside each room was a nice touch for relaxing, but the lack of a ceiling fan made it uncomfortable during hot days, and occasional mosquito issues were a drawback.

However, we faced challenges with the management’s responsiveness—their replies to even basic inquiries were frustratingly unhelpful. A key tip for future guests: request two room keys at check-in, as the hotel does not proactively provide them. With just one key, the AC shuts off every time you leave, making the room extremely hot upon return.

On a positive note, the breakfast menu was excellent, and the waitstaff was outstanding, especially Vijayan, who ensured guests were comfortable. The Thali and fish curry at lunch were delicious. However, the dinner menu was inconsistent—some dishes were flavorful, but others, like the mutton biryani, fell short of five-star standards.

Additionally, while the staff was extremely helpful, the rooms could use some upgrades, particularly in furniture and electrical outlets. Some plug points had loose connections, requiring precise positioning to work, which was inconvenient.

Overall, while we had a comfortable stay, improvements in service, room amenities, and certain menu items would greatly enhance the guest experience.
