Acqua fredda
The host was fantastic. When I realized I needed to leave and shuttles were not available he found me a friend to drive me.
This is a very "tired" hotel and did not match the quality I normally get in Guate at this price.
The value, location, bathroom, comfort was good
Breakfast wasnt available, and the common areas were not very clean or tidy
L'emplacement.
Blizko centra, ciste pokoje, ciste socialni zarizeni, tepla voda.prijemna terasa na posezeni.prijemny pan domaci, poradi, vysvetli a komunikuje Anglicky.
Okna netesni, psi domaciho stekaji a lehce to ve spolecnych prostorach smrdi. Prvni dojem ze spol3cnych prostorach a neporadek na recepci. Kuchynka neexistuje. Sem tam psi lejno na terase.
Don Manuel, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. We had two spotless rooms on the second floor. The best hot shower I’ve had in Guatemala. We could eat our breakfast downstairs and heat drinks etc. in the microwave.
The downstairs eating area could do with an upgrade as it was very basic.
The owner is the sweetest man ever and is there to get you whatever you need!Beautiful cozy little hotel
Manuel and his son were super welcoming and really helpful.
Highly recommend !
Thanks again
The location of this privately-run hotel was fine and just a 5-6 min walk from the center. The older gentleman who owns the place was friendly and helpful, though I needed to ask him for towels and toilet paper, which weren’t in the room. He kindly brought me a cup of boiled water to put my coffee packet in. He provided a little information about the city. I believe he occupies the second floor, but when I called out to ask him a question, there was no answer.
Personally, I was not happy with this place. I had a ground floor room which, admittedly I chose, so I wouldn’t have to walk up to the third floor, past the barking dog. It was freezing cold and even the extra blanket I was given didn’t provide enough warmth. I let the water run several minutes in the shower but it was still cold, so I didn’t take a shower. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. But worst was the constant noise of barking dogs outside (and even the owner’s dog) as well as a rooster that crowed from midnight until dawn and I couldn’t sleep a wink. I cancelled the second night I had booked (after having found another hotel) and the owner reimbursed what I had paid for the second night with no hassle. Hotel Chalet cost GTQ 302 (€36) a night and the hotel I switched to cost GTQ130, with none of the problems. Perhaps the rooms on the upper floor are warmer, have hot water, and more comfortable beds … who knows? But due to the problems mentioned, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Value for money. Adequate for our needs.
Bathroom could have been cleaner.
