Wonderful staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and fun. The restaurant and bar staff were attentive and helpful. The chefs were great and provided a variety of choices at every meal time. Special mention to Chef Kujabi. Our room was serviced daily- special mention to Saiko Danso. Good to see well trained and viligant lifeguards present. A relaxed and professional approach by the mainly Gambian staff. A credit to your country, community and polished hospitality skills.
There could be more complimentary toileteries put in the room. This was not the fault of the cleaning staff but a hotel policy position.
The setup was very nice
I didn't like the mosquitoes 😤
hotel located right on the beach, with well-kept gardens and cleverly designed pools; very friendly and helpful staff, tasty varied meals and comfortable spacious rooms (we received a room with a beautiful view of the beach); if you are looking for a modern facility where you feel safe and comfortable, yet intimate, Kalimba is a very good choice
the hotel staff are not keen on the booking.com platform.... at check-in they first informed us that our booking was not available and then we spent another ten minutes negotiating our package, for which we had paid a considerable amount of money via booking.com.... In the end, everything turned out well, but it cost us a lot of stress after a hard journey
So different price for the same room type!!!!???? Please. What’s wrong with your booking pricing? Booking.com said I should talk to you and you said I should talk to Booking. Wow.
Friendly
Nothing
This is a beautiful place to relax for a few days. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are big and nicely furnished. The provided Moskito Net over the bed gives added comfort, also I did not see any. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Gambia.
I travel a lot, so I have seen many hotels. There is nothing to complain with today one.
Nice and spacious and on the beach
Staff not overly helpful, or friendly. Also the additions of the bbq night were expensive for what they actually were
it was/is modern
mosquitoes!! although the bed had the net around it.. the little blighters were hidden in the netting .
Proximity of the beach, relatively stable wifi.
Racist personnel! People with dark skin were treated different than others, they were interrogated and were forced to use security screening, even when they were hotel guests paying for their stay. White people were allowed in and out unchallenged and were welcomed in restaurants and bars regardless whether or not they were hotel guests. There was no restaurant at the hotel and guests were directed to Tamala Resort next door (under the same management). Only one key per room was allowed which made it difficult for couples with varying programmes of a day. Reception was unattended most of the time. Rooms were full of crawling insects. Mosquito nets had large holes in them rendering them useless. Furniture in rooms was inadequate and uncomfortable.
