It’s a beautiful place to stay, the staff were so accommodating ☺️

Pros:

Savii and Asha made the best hosts.
It was our first experience of a home stay.
Break from tv.
Savii saved me from the lizard.

Cons:

Just found out that restaurant was not operational and only breakfast was available. No tea station in room only upstairs by the kitchen. A bit inconvenient as weather was hot. Only fans in dining area. Views beautiful. Need mosquito sprays in rooms.

Just a warning about mosquitos. As the hotel overlooks the lake it is quiet and has lovely views but the mosquitos in the evening were a problem for us

Don't miss out if you're staying in this area. Don't miss the chilli out Cafe 2 km away for sunset.
Pros:

The location, the staff, the room, the breafast. Everything was wonderful. Savinay, Asha and Shiji were so kind and fun to talk to and helpful for whatever I needed. The location is absolutely serene and beautiful. I Walked out of my room and there was an eagle just sitting there before it flew away, the views of the river and the Chinese fishing nets was wonderful. And the sunrise!!! And sunset over the ocean a few minutes walk away... Oh and the shower!! Fabulous water pressure too and lovely big shower!

Pros:

Schönes kleines Haus, nur vier Zimmer. Traumhafte, ruhige Lage direkt am Wasser.
Ein besonderer Pluspunkt sind die ausgesprochen aufmerksamen, freundlichen Mitarbeiter*innen.
Einfaches, aber sehr leckeres, täglich wechselndes, frisch zubereitetes Frühstück.
Ist für uns nicht "um die Ecke", aber wenn wir es noch einmal nach Kerala schaffen... sehr gerne wieder.

Cons:

Nur Frühstück - jedoch solide Restaurantempfehlungen, die in wenigen Minuten erreichbar sind.

Pros:

From the moment me and my mother arrived, we were greeted by a smile. The room was above our expectations and the cleanest room I’ve stayed in in India. View was stunning, staff was amazing, breakfast was great and overall experience was far above expectation. I deeply recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and overall lovely experience in kerala! 11/10

Very nice stay, highly recommend
Pros:

Very nice place, good value for money, incredible staff, very attentive and helpful, the view on backwater is amazing.

Cons:

I can’t say I didn’t like, just if you work on vacation as I do:) the WiFi is not reaching some of the rooms, only terrace, but otherwise available on the rooftop.

Mooi gelegen hotel met goede grote kamer aan de rivier.
Pros:

Mooie locatie met zicht op de rivier. Mooie grote kamer met uitzicht en goede badkamer. Goed om te weten dat je er niet kan dineren, tenzij vantevoren aangevraagd. Wij zijn met de tuktuk naar Cherai beach gegaan en hebben goed gegeten bij Lilliput.

Cons:

Dat we er niet iets konden drinken muv koffit en thee.

We stayed at Vala House for 2 nights and it was exactly what we were looking for – a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The property is surrounded by beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape from the city. The breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. A special mention to Ashwin and Savinay for their wonderful service and warm hospitality, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
