The staff were good bar was handy to have and pool table was a hit with my bairn who was 8 and breakfast was nice and beds were comfy
The bed room I stayed in had 2 large cracks in wall on left hand side of room and under bed looked bit dusty .
Absolutely nothing
I am shocked that this property is allowed to be listed on booking.com at the price it’s is. Yes it’s cheap but probably should be listed at around £30 or £40. It’s incredibly dated which is fine but it’s dirty, there was hair all over the bathroom, the walls were filthy and grimy and the carpets looked like they were laat replaced in 1913.
Everything was clean and basically as advertised, we appreciated that there was a large fan as we were visiting York in the middle of a heatwave. It was about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, but that wasn’t an issue for us.
The faucet and tap in the sink were slightly loose and seemed to be leaking rust onto the sink basin. The room could have also used a fresh coat of paint on the walls and bed frame, as there were cracks or bits that had worn away. Both the mattresses were fairly hard.
The room, the bed, to be honest it was very expensive for what you got, it should have been £50 a night & we only stayed 1night out of 3, we looked for somewhere better & had to pay out again
We had a nice stay at The Leeman Rose. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was great for us. The room was comfortable enough and had everything we needed for our stay. Overall, it is a good choice for a short stay, and we had a positive experience.
The only downside was that the bed was a little uncomfortable, but overall, it is a good option for a short stay. I don’t think we had any other negative experiences.
It was a clean room everything you need for the price no complaints at all
Honestly the only issue was we went during a heat wave and the room felt like a sauna obviously out with the staffs control
El servicio de la hoster fue fantástico
La ubicación, está un poco alejado del centro
Nice location lovely walk along river into York
The noise but wasn’t noisy after 11:30pm.
The young lady who is booked me in on the 11th in the afternoon was very pleasant
A stain in the wash basin , the bed area was very cramped. There was a noise issue during the night which was not the hotels fault but all things considered I paid to stay elsewhere on the 12th at Clifton bridge
it's lovely cozy place, we like it. ( 5 mins uber to railway station )
The bed was comfortable, after a night out!
There should be more transparency of what to expect. The place is advertised as a hotel. It is not, it is a couple of rooms above a pub.
They also advertised 'private parking' which in reality is finding a space on a public road. A bit of a free for all trying to find a space on a residential road, and not in any way secure.
I wasn't made aware of any breakfast facilities nor the location of where to go.
Additionally, no times or menu were available.
The location is a rundown part of York which (used to be) a no go area when I used to visit the city regularly. It possibly still is.
The member of staff who 'greeted' me was not very friendly and offered no information about my booking whatsoever.
The room was grubby with tired paintwork and peeling wallpaper. Every surface in the shower/toilet room had a layer of filth on.
Another gripe is I know for a fact mistakenly left an item of personal property in the room. I rang and enquired about it but nothing has been reported. Whoever did changeover must have found it.
If the room had cost maybe £45 max it would have been just about acceptable, but not for nearly £90!
The pub downstairs with football on. Decent location, pizza and breakfast wraps were pretty good.
Had to ask for milks etc on second and third days, noisy on Sunday evening past normal time. Bed squeaked. No issue but crack in shower base.
