Samyama Retreat

We liked the location being in nature watching the birds, monkeys etc.

Our room was very spacious and the bed was huge. The toiletries were a nice touch as was the postcard. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and any requests we had were fulfilled quickly. Vejaya was very informative and communication was excellent before and during our stay.


Food was amazing too.

Located in a lush & green environment, it feels like a real retreat. They even have a swing in the garden. Also a canal is right next to the garden which is used for canoeing and there is a meeting point right at the garden.
It is lively and many people are around.

You have to be aware, that the resort is build into a hill and is accessible only via a very rough & rocky road. I recommend (for westerners) NOT to drive after dark.
Meaning once you have arrived there, you better stay there.

Staff is very kind & helpful. Very easy going!
The owner is also fair & helpful with arrangements.

Vipin the host was as good a host as I have ever experienced. He was so helpful and thoughtful and wonderful . The room itself was excellent, set near the jungle. The early morning noises of birds etc was fantastic . We saw and heard nice (not scary) monkeys, peacocks and a heap of birds. The food was great and the beach, which I’d a short walk away, is lovely. A really great stay and me to long remember.

The cottage was spacious, clean with good quality bedding and towels. Spacious bathroom with a few essential toiletries. The large balcony , with sun lounger, table and chairs gave an amazing view over the jungle and river.We were happy to see lots of wildlife, birds, monkeys peacock and more. Advantage of Room 5 is close to the reception and restaurant. 5 min walk to the beach. Lovely food and an amazing host and his staff.

Everything! Great location, cozy cottage. Friendly, professional and very helpful staff, arranging transfer from the airport, welcome drink etc etc. The territory is beautiful and peaceful, we hear birds singing in the morning. The bed is huge and quite comfortable, the room is spacious. The beach is only a short walk away. The staff is there for any request. When you arrive they meet you and bring your suitcases to your room, same on departure. They arranged the canoe for us that was brought directly to the hotel, very comfortable! The food in the restaurant is very good too. Overall we are more then satisfied. I will come back when in Goa. Thank you very much and best wishes!

The staff were amazing, Vippin was so helpful throughout the stay and the complimentary coffee in the morning as well as port wine was delicious.

The location is very close to the beach but it is more peaceful which you really experience in the morning and evening.

The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious and fairly priced.

Cosy secluded place, intimately hidden in the jungle forest. 3-4 minutes of walk to the beach. Vipin, the owner and other staff are really helpful. Good spot to recharge your batteries 🙂 chef mango lassi recommend to try

Almost no mosquitoes, I saw a beautiful peacock in the territory

Clean and well-equipped rooms with air conditioning in the heart of nature in a spectacular location in the forest above a river and next to a beach with charming bays. The service we received was excellent and friendly .Generous and dedicated Very excellent meals, highly recommended.

The staff is amazing. We can’t say enough about them. The service is phenomenal. Great location. On the water, peaceful. Hearing birds and monkeys in the morning. 3 min walk to the beach.

The most beautiful, kind and caring vibe at this accommodation! The host and the Samyama team provided complimentary water and hot drinks and an incredible restaurant menu all in the peace of nature filled land. We were staying on an elevated room in the treetops with birds and a short walk to the very scenic Cola beach and the team gave great advice about the local area. The path to the retreat from the main road is a little bumpy but very manageable we had a scooter!

This magical place is a 5-10min walk from Cola beach, yet set in the secluded jungle. The treehouses are all very private and the sounds of birds resonate through the trees. It’s amazing. The staff are so kind and helpful. It’s 5 star service. We were so grateful for their help with our children and our Goan holiday. It’s very quiet in the mornings and evenings and livelier during the day with kayakers on the river. It’s an easy 40min walk to Agonda beach, or a more challenging 45min walk to kakolem beach. 30min drive to Palolem.

Amazing service from the staff. They make sure everything is perfect during your stay and are always reachable.
The complimentary coffee they bring in the morning on the terrace is a big plus!

It's a great place for peaceful holidays in the beautiful forest with mountain river! If you wanna relax from a loud big city this place is perfect for you. It's 7 minutes walking to the beach. The stuff was most welcome, the food was delicious 😋. Strongly recommend this place!

The location, the food, the staff

This was my last stop in my trip to India, and what a way to end it! The location is right in the heart of nature, and merges beautifully with it. The staff and owner are so genuinely warm and caring. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant had tasty food with many options.
I definitely recommend this place, whether you're a solo traveler or a family or couple, this retreat is much more than just a place to stay. It's a full experience!!

Fantastic relaxing retreat in a jungle with a crystal clear stream running through the valleys centre that is a short swim or canoe ride from the lagoon at cola beach. This is where time stands with an abundance of exotic birds including the graceful long tailed Indian fly catcher Greater coucal centropus and several birds of prey. The place is teeming with nature perfect for artists and photographers. Our favourites were a family of monkeys swinging from tree to tree .
The staff couldn’t do enough for us including room service and making sure our needs were met . The food and drinks were good quality too.
