Lovely hosts, shame booking.com weren’t as obvious about the payment for the property and I had to pay at property even though I thought I had done this already. Nice bedroom and nice breakfast.

Horrible experience. NOT RECOMMENDED! The building is run down. The site is tatty & grimy. Rooms are a 1 star. Mattresses are uncomfortable. The emergency exit outside my room has issues with water ingress. It's obvious the owners do not care about their building, staff, or customers. Events at the hotel nightly often run into the early hours. The walls of the bedrooms are paper thin, don't expect to get to sleep early. Security is very poor, made apparent in a number of ways. Doors use a key to lock, but locks are sticky and difficult to lock properly. It is very easy to think your door is locked only to find that it isn't. The security problems were made very clear to me on the day of my departure. I came down from my room at 7.30am to meet the night guard. He told me my vehicle (parked in the secure carpark) had been broken into. The burgular had been in the carpark for over an hour (despite security and cameras) but no one had spotted him. He was only caught when he tried to break into the hotel games room. My work vehicle was randsacked. The window was smashed and contents upturned all over the inside & outside. My power tools were taken & my camera. My power tools were recovered, but my camera was not (valued at €2000). I spent the morning cleaning and tidying my jeep and filing a report with the police. No one from management was there when the incident happened; they didn't turn up until nearly midday even though the break in was sometime around 3am. No one from management called me or met me to see if I was ok or to offer support help, or compensation. When I phoned the manager told me, "you won't get any compensation from us, vehicles are parked at owners risk", The hotel is responsible for safety and security of guests. I lost half a days work, I cannot park my vehicle anywhere now; it is insecure. I have to rent a van for the week until it can be repaired & valeted. The whole incident will cost me over €3500 in lost income, equipment and car hire.

Not a lot to like. Breakfast didn't start early enough, despite the majority of customers seeming to be tradespersons, like myself. Staff are pleasant in the main but clearly underpaid, undetrained and undervalued by their employers. I feel for them.
