I shared details about our earlier experience at the Garner Hotel by IHG next door, so I will not repeat that here. However, I would like to note how fortunate we were to secure a last-minute stay at Ergife Palace Hotel for two nights.
I just read some mixed reviews and even witnessed a guest expressing dissatisfaction to the front desk during checkout. Fortunately, our experience was entirely the opposite.
The value offered was exceptional. The breakfast was beautifully presented, delicious, and abundant. By the time we arrived, we had been traveling throughout Italy for over two weeks and had consistently been disappointed by the coffee and espresso we encountered. This made the coffee at Ergife especially memorable—it was by far the best we had during our trip. It was so good that I even ordered a decaf to go, which still surpassed any coffee we had elsewhere.
Our room was spacious, high ceilinged, quiet, and offered completely blackout for sleep, with effective air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable, and the furnishings—including a couch, a long bed-end ottoman, a desk and chair—added to the overall comfort. Our room also featured a balcony overlooking the beautiful pool and palm trees, which created a relaxing atmosphere. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a powerful shower and a large bathtub that, unfortunately, I did not have time to enjoy.
The staff were consistently courteous and helpful. At one point, we requested to borrow two wine glasses from the bar so we could enjoy some wine alongside meats and cheese we had purchased. The bartender (possibly the same individual referenced in a negative review), although was extremely busy, kindly accommodated our request without hesitation.
Although we did not have the opportunity to use the pool, it added to the overall ambiance and provided a lovely view during our stay.
Looking back, I only wish instead of choosing a BnB, we had stayed here at the beginning of our trip. It was truly a pleasant experience—lesson learned for next time.

Too bad for me i did not check Tripadvisor prior booking our stay.
All bellow comments are real. A fairly nice hotel with a terible service/rude staff.
Incredible rude short bald guy at the pool bar when asked for some ice. They probably are rude among themselfs as not even the receptionist could not convince the pool bar staff to help us with some ice, so forget about having a nice bucket of ice for your wine/champagne in your room.
Robert, the receptionist was the only normal talking employee with a bit of customer care attitude.
Pool, Zimmer, essen
Big rooms with balcony.
This hotel must be the only one in the world where asking for ice is like asking for free gold bars. We were being told that ice "is for work". So if you plan to have a bottle of wine or prosecco in your room, buy ice from petrol station, also, buy a bucket as they dont have. Or at least this is what they said but could be false because in first evening when we asked for some ice they gave us a small plastic cup with maybe 5 cubes and said they have no more, but we could see the big bucket in the bar and the bags of ice in refrigerator.
Rude staff (short bald guy at the bar)at the pool bar, made us not even wanting to deal with them in any way.
The place itself it's looks nice with big pool, but the service is dissapointing. I guess, being a big hotel with many rooms, they focus on quantity not quality.
The only nice person we've met, it's a guy at the front office where we checked in, i believe Robert was his name. But not even him was able to convince the pool bar staff to offer us more than 2 small plastic cups of ice.
