Cleanliness, comfortable location and excellent staff the icing on the cake.
I thought the property excellent. Can’t make any negative comment
Very relaxing atmosphere
Would be nice to see dinner prices on menu but this is very minor
The pool was nice but spa facilities in general were poor. The food was lovely but service was very poor.
Very uncomfortable restaurant experience - we booked in for 8.30 and there was only one other couple in the restaurant who we were sat beside. We ordered a starter to share and two steaks for mains, with a bottle of wine. The other couple left as we were eating our mains and the waitress then switched off the music and stood waiting for us to finish mains. We were extremely uncomfortable. We ordered a dessert to share and again the waitress stood in view in silence just waiting for us to finish. Again - this was all before 9.30 on a Friday evening, bizarre. We ended up bringing the rest of our wine up to the cocktail bar as we felt so unwanted and rushed out of the restaurant. Very poor service, we won’t be back.
Location was amazing
Normally in a spa there would be water & fruit available in locations around the spa free of charge, there was not. The pool was tired and dated. The bath panel in our room was falling off and the shower made an awful noise.
Peaceful and relaxing
Should definitely think about adding an outdoor hot tub
Friendly and efficient check-in & -out. Good quality food and service (dinner and breakfast). Room was clean with a good shower.
Limited bar drinks, no draft or bottled Guinness! Only two loungers in the pool area and no warm plunge tub. Whilst the rooms were acceptable the property and grounds are in need of maintenance.
The scenery staff were friendly very peaceful.massage lovely
Room smell musty
Room not cleaned properly
Breakfast list outside restaurant advertised waffles and pancakes but not available
Dinner menu same every night we were there
Everything , it was relaxing and enjoyable and so near Avoca cafe for gifts and lunch
Not much maybe in evening a little more music but I get it’s a tranquil feeling
Pool, sauna, steam room, location.
Nothing
Location was fantastic and loved the countryside.
We tried to book a treatment prior to staying and reached our 3 times with no response. There is no gym facility which would bring the health farm up on rating. The bedrooms are tired could do with updating.
The setting that the hotel is in is beautiful with the stunning views of the Sugarloaf and surrounding mountains just there as well as the forest area. I enjoyed sitting outsideThere are a few little snugs and seating areas around the place for sitting and enjoying the views and taking them in. The restaurant was decorated lovely. I found the staff service there efficient and pleasant and the food was of good quality and tasted lovely. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The reception area and pool space are well presented. The forest trail was nice even though it isnt what you expect when you look at the map you're given. It's a ramp that leads through a forested area to an open meadow to walk around, which is a little disappointing but still a nice walk.
The cleaning staff are over keen. I was interrupted one afternoon by a knock to the door and a guy there giving me fresh towels which I didn't need. The second day I came back to my room after a walk and one of the cleaning staff was still in there making my bed and had moved some of my stuff. I did not like this invasion of privacy while staying there. They need to introduce do not disturb signs. I felt some of the areas, like the sensory garden, orchard gazebo, pathways leading to car park and secret garden looked tired and untended to, giving them a neglected feeling. I don't mind the fact that nature is allowed to take over somewhat but they're on the map as facilities that can be used so they probably could do with giving it a little more attention. Some of the pathways had the same feeling. Even though the room was clean and comfortable the sound proofing is terrible. I could hear my neighbours talking in their room, snoring at night and the extractor fan running when they used the toilet. It made me feel I also had to be quiet. During the afternoon I could hear hoovers going and doors slamming as the cleaning crew moved around so didn't feel very relaxed. The window overlooked a seating area and, even though the glass has been treated with privacy screening, you still feel that it's not private so I had to pull the curtains across for the duration leaving my room feeling dark and small. They need to have nets on the windows as an option. Overall I went wanting to relax but found myself wanting escape from my room during the day to get away from the feeling of busyness outside. I enjoyed being outside but if there is bad weather you'd be limited to where you could actually hang out and would be depending on the hotel facilities more. I didn't use the pool because I forgot to bring flip flops with me. It's E8 to buy a pair there. Feel they could offer complimentary slippers to walk around in.
The location and ambience were outstanding, and the breakfast was lovely.
Price of the drinks was very high.
Breakfast was good and I had the added bonus of seeing a fawn on the lawn beside the breakfast room!
Dinner menu could have had more choice
