Old bumpy mattress that you can feel the springs.
Very small shower.
Areas of the shower need a good bleach as they are a bit dirty at the bottom.
TV would only work properly on a couple of channels - the rest had intermittent interference due to signal quality issues.

The guest in the room below us decided to make a series of loud phone calls in the middle of the night which was highly disturbing. Not the fault of the hotel of course, but as it is the cheapest hotel in town it will inevitably have more inconsiderate behaviour such as this taking place.

The room was extremely small, had no window and had an unpleasant smell. The bar and restaurant were also closed due to renovation, which was not made clear to me when I booked the hotel. The overall condition and experience were completely unacceptable, so I decided to leave the property and find alternative accommodation.

As they are in a state of renovation it would be impossible to comment

The room needs desperately updating. The bathroom door was practically broken along with the sink tap which didn’t have hot water. The shower was filthy. The manager walked past us in the car park without any acknowledgment or greeting which we found to be extremely rude of her.

Shocking. Yes cheap but not cheap enough, you would have to pay me to stay there again. Only tell you after you have booked and paid that there are no facilities due to refurbishment. Room and bathroom extremely tired and unclean, broken glass under the bed. Green light in main ceiling light keeps the room lit all night, so much noise from outside but also every floorboard in every room creaking and you could hear everything all the time. Didn’t feel particularly safe, it all just felt not nice.

When we booked, we were advised that the hotel restaurant was closed but that there were plenty of nearby places to eat. However, when we arrived, we found that absolutely nothing was open except the guest rooms. Even the pub was closed, meaning we couldn’t even sit down to have a couple of drinks and a chat.

The room itself left a lot to be desired. The cleanliness was stomach-churning:

The Bathroom: Absolutely filthy. The toilet was covered in dried urine and hair, and the base was visibly disgusting. The mirror and glass shelves were completely rusted, and the plastic cups left for our use were dirty.

The Shower: Caked in thick soap scum and clearly had not been cleaned before our arrival.

The Bedroom: The carpets were dirty, and a snapped shard of wood was being used to prop the window open.

Because of the state of the room, we didn't even dare fold down the bedsheets out of fear of what we might find underneath.

We immediately notified the management, showed them photographic evidence of the dirt, and confirmed we would not be staying. They claimed they would investigate the cleanliness and offered us an alternative room. We obviously declined—if a clean, acceptable room was readily available, why on earth were we given this disgusting one in the first place?

Our entire stay consisted of dropping our bags off, going straight to Wetherspoons because we hadn't eaten all day, having a couple of drinks, walking back to discover these issues, and checking right back out.

This place is nowhere near worth the £60 per night being charged. Avoid at all costs.

Family stayed here the night before us and said it wasn’t great looked unclean also only received an email the day before to say the bar and restaurant were both closed not what I’d expect from a booking.com hotel
