CHILL VILLE, VIEW POINT HOTEL

This is an excellent hotel. The view (whether from the patio by our room, the restaurant or the pool) down to the southern foothills is gorgeous, basically the same view you’d get if you do the Little Adam’s Peak or Ella Rock hikes, just not quite as wide. And you can actually see the view, since Ella is high enough that you’re above the smoky sky of the lowlands. The staff are very friendly and helpful and spoke English better than at most other hotels. The room is nice and big and very quiet at night. The food at the restaurant is very good, especially the Sri Lankan dishes. The Sri Lankan curry and rice set a standard that no other restaurant has met, with an amazing variety of curries included. They have tuktuk drivers that can take you into town or to a trailhead, and the cost is competitive with what you’d pay any other driver. Lastly, the price is an excellent value.

L'hôtel est bien entretenu et bien décoré. La vue est incroyable!
Le personnel est très serviable, notamment les serveurs au bar/restaurant qui ont été très attentionnés, surtout avec nos enfants.
Le petit déjeuner est excellent, très varié, il y en a pour tous les goûts (granola, fromage frais, fruits, jus de fruits frais, toasts, banana bread, pain perdu, spécialités sri lankaises,...).
Sur les 3 hôtels dans lesquels nous avons séjourné, celui-ci a été le meilleur (propreté, qualité du service, restauration).

It is very picturesque being so far up and out of the main town. Breakfast one of the best and very helpful and friendly staff.

Das Chill Ville liegt ca 15 Minuten mit dem tuktuk von Ella Town entfernt. Das war für uns die perfekte Lage: sehr ruhig, aber trotzdem fix in der Stadt. Der Blick vom Restaurant und Pool aus ist wirklich einmalig! Die Zimmer sind in einzelnen Häusern quer über das Gelände verteilt (Achtung nicht barrierefrei, da viele Treppen). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Insbesondere der Gärtner ist ein absoluter Schatz und ein super netter Kerl (gibt dem Mann eine saftige Gehaltserhöhung!). Auch der Service („Kofferträger“) extrem zuvorkommend! Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und sehr sauber. Der Blick von der Terrasse war einmalig! Das Badezimmer war auch sehr modern und sauber. Anlage wirkte sehr gepflegt. Hotel hat einen TukTuk Service mit einem wirklich netten Fahrer.

Wij reizen de hele wereld rond en dit is wel een pareltje hoor! Wat een uitzicht! Lekker fris zwembad, heerlijk eten en prachtige kamers.
Tuc tuc staat klaar om je naar Ella en omgeving te brengen. Druk dorpje, dus echt zo lekker weer terug te komen in dit hotel. Extra pluim voor personeel ! Wat een lieve zorgzame mensen! Dikke 10!

Spectacular location, so high up in the mountains, it gave you the most incredible panoramas. Loved the open large thatched roof bar and dining room with unforgettable views of deep valleys, mountains and gorges.
We loved the fact there were only 7 individual bedroom units with their incredible balconies. The food was some of the most delicious we had been served in Sri Lanka. So much so, we found it’s sister restaurant in the centre of Ella and had a great lunch there. Thank you to our bar and breakfast person who talked us through some great alternatives to view secret waterfalls and good places to eat.

Beautiful surrounds just outside Ella. Quiet and peaceful. Food was excellent. We loved the Sri Lankan curry for dinner. Staff were so helpful and even made us a packed breakfast for our early start. If you are looking for somewhere relaxing to stay in nature just a short tuk tuk to Ella book this place you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful, peaceful location with fantastic views over the valley. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant area which make the most of the views.
Staff are fantastic, making you feel so welcome and at home from the minute you arrive. Nothing was too much trouble and we were so well looked after we didn’t want to leave.
Breakfast had a great selection and an egg station from which we enjoyed excellent omelettes. Dinner was also very good, we enjoyed local curries and international dishes.
Ella and the sights are nearby but the peaceful location makes Chill Ville a delight to stay in. Thankyou for a wonderful holiday stay. Beautiful !

Our stay in Ella was absolutely unforgettable – the hotel was incredibly comfortable, beautifully designed, and the outdoor spaces were especially stunning, with a view so breathtaking that we chose to spend more time there just enjoying it rather than exploring the town. The staff were beyond amazing and kind – when we asked where we could buy jackfruit, they surprised us by picking one fresh from their own tree for us, which was such a thoughtful and unforgettable gesture. I truly recommend this place from the bottom of my heart.

The location was so good and you can have a panoramic view of the mountains. Although it's a little bit away from the main road in Ella, but this hotel is worth coming. The staff were so kind and even when I had some troubles, they came in a few minutes and helped me. The restaurant was magnificent. The food was of course so good, but at the same time, you can enjoy the view. The room was so clean and I feel as if I was in a Japanese hotel. Also, you can get hot water here. I stayed at other hotels in Sri Lanka but some of them, only cold water comes out after ten minutes or so.
I wanna come back here next time I visit Sri Lanka! Thank you so much!
