Complete, all you need breakfast
Nice old-school hotel, with great confort and amenities. The gentleman that received me doesn't speak english but he's very nice and polite and in the end everything went very well.
The only thing I have to notice is that I arrived quite early, at 6 pm, but the door of the hotel and the reception were closed, and there's no doorbell to ring (true story!). So, the only option to get in and to do the check-in is to call them (and that can be a big problem if the battery of your phone is almost dead, as mine was)...
I had a very nice, bright and quiet room on the top floor with a beautiful view over Gera. Internet was good, the staff was nice, the breakfast satisfying. Would def. come back.
Nice clean and friendly hotel.
Restaurant was closed. A bit of a walk to the town.
The room was very good size, the hotel was very clean. The breakfast was good. The location as well, close to the center. The staff friendly and helpful.I recommend it.
There was no such thing.
Breakfast, the room, the beer garden, car parking
Breakfast was OK and not too expensive and had a good range of choice including some hot food.
Room was clean and well presented.
It was a cold evening but it was easy to turn up the heating and the room was quickly warm
Overall reasonable value for money.
The hotel is some way from the centre of Gera and there was little information about how to find it - I had to work it out from Via Michelin and the local transport operator. However, it was close to a regular bus route which also served the railway station.
Check-in was very protracted because despite the claim that English was spoken the lady on reception (alone) when I arrived (8.30pm, but within their advertised reception period) could speak almost no English (despite this, it must be added, she tried her very best to assist).
I asked the hotel twice by email whether their restaurant would still be open when I arrived. I was told the first time that it closed at 9pm. I wrote again nearer to my arrival to confirm the time and ask for a table to be reserved and received no reply. When I did arrive the restaurant was closed and did not appear to have been open at all that evening.
