Setting and location
The old mill and heritage
Location suited suited our needs. The building and grounds were Beautiful.
Disappointed that we were told on boooking we could have dinner but then enroute we were told we could not!.
Room could do with an update and the window stay was broken.
Location was perfect as we were visiting various gardens.
Breakfast met our needs in every way (quality, portion size and choice).

Rooms can get hot in summer
It's nice friendly hotel with a pleasant garden and a mill pound. The food was excellent. Interesting dishes, nicely prepared moderate portions. Check their menu. The bedrooms are quite big which is nice. We had room 1 which is on the ground door, (sort of in the car park) It was ok but perhaps better to ask for one of the other rooms.
We enjoyed our stay and will go back.
It is a wedding venue which can mean that ordinary guests are rather overlooked. There was no wedding when we stayed but it might be worth checking before finalising your booking. The EV charger work after a few tries!
Breakfast was good and was ideal for where we needed to be for the day
Alarm going off at 2.30 and a little disappointed that there was no mention of it, no apology made for a broken nights sleep, I know alarms can’t always be helped but apparently a moth triggered it going off
Excellent and peaceful atmosphere, can be noisy if not apart of the wedding guest. Windows does not block outside noise. Warm, big inviting room and bathroom...
Beautiful grounds and it’s kept so lovely! The staff were lovely and the food was exceptional too. The rooms were very spacious and cosy my only complaint was that the room was so hot but neither the radiator or the towel rail were on!!

Beautiful gardens , fantastic food and very relaxing surroundings , resident peacock , ducks in the grounds were very entertaining
Minor bits . Bathroom light needs replacing and toilet flush system requires looking at .
