The only small issue I experienced was on the morning of my check-out. At around 9:00 am, I received a loud knock on the door from a housekeeping operative. When I opened the door, they appeared to be checking whether the room was vacant.

As someone who works in the same industry, I completely understand that housekeeping teams aim to clean rooms as early as possible. However, with check-out not being until 12:00 pm, it would have been nice not to have my sleep disturbed quite so early.

On the hottest day of the year I couldn't open my window because of a wasp net directly outside and the air con did not work, when I asked at reception for a different room I was told there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked as compensation they offered me 1 free drink at the bar! After a lengthy discussion which included me asking for a refund so I could find a different hotel they suddenly found a spare room....A very small tired room with broken air con....which I had little choice to accept.
In the morning there was no hot water :( so it was a cold shower, on check out I informed reception who's response was "yes I know, we have called someone out" not even an apology! I just left and will never return! AVOID THIS RUN DOWN HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

I liked that Holiday Inn Rugby was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The hotel was easy to access, which made the stay simple and stress-free. The room was relaxing, the atmosphere was calm, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

My children and myself were using the pool, and when I got out, I was drying the swim shorts and the member of staff approached me and said she had a complaint of my children throwing a small inflatable ball close to other people. This wasn't the case as I was in the pool with them. She said that my children might not be able to come back to use the facilities.

As matter of personal opinion and preference, the mattress was far too soft - in the morning I had awful back ache due to lack of support in the night. The bed frames also felt quite flimsy, they sunk in the middle giving even less support.

Not enough staff, had to go and find the restaurant staff to order food, then they forgot to serve it. Best not eat there

Food was absolutely awful. My friend who I meet up with every year either staying at M6 Junction 2 or Crick, we chose Crick this year. Pate came already spread thinly on half cooked toast, chicken caesar salad was in the smallest bowl I have ever seen and the chicken tikka masala was inedible. The waiter took one look at it and offered a full refund straight away. Check out next morning - one receptionist who was serving teas/coffees and stacking cups, had to wait at least 10 minutes to check out. A very disappointing stay, next year we will return to Coventry I am afraid.

We had room booked for 2 adults and child,when we checked in sofa bed for child was not done so I went back to reception to inform and she confirmed it will be done asap.We then headed out and just let receptionist know that we will return very late.When we returned sofa bed was still not done and it was 1am, thankfully there was night porter who was very nice, apologized multiple times and bed was done immediately.

The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was having to leave!

Staff were understaffed so had to wait on various occasions
