Sehr schöner Innenhof, toller Pool, super Dachterasse. Personal top, Haustiere lieb 😂. Geldwechsel klappte auch einwandfrei, Shuttelservicr wird arrangiert, falls gewollt. Gastgeberin Mara ist entspannt und freundlich, unkompliziert und entgegenkommend
Das Frühstück war leider sehr eintönig
As many reviewers highlight, for the price - this is indeed a special place with a special and warm atmosphere. The courtyard/pool area is very beautiful and the rooftop restaurant a gem. My room (on the second floor) was decent, with a well functioning AC. Breakfast was good enough, with bred, cheese and ham, Spanish tortilla, scrambled and boiled egg, coffee/tea and juice.
It is not a place for everyone. Most of the staff don't speak English, the guesthouse has two dogs and cats running free and the lobby is functioning as a kindergarten and/or a private hangout space from time to time. Staying at Casa Mara felt like visiting a family, friendly but one you need to accept/cope with.
My room was also in need of some minor renovation/upgrades (bookshelves askew, worn bed linen, electricity hanging free, a desk lamp was missing etc). Also a minus that CasaMara do not accept payments by card.

Une fuite dans la douche et les remontées
There is something almost magical about Casa Mara. It attracts couples, families (without exception with delightful children), others...all nice people, we stayed for a week (instead of the 3 days booked). The pool, although small, is pleasant and popular. The breakfasts are a little repetitive but fresh and topped up just for the asking (many eat late here). The staff are helpful and work hard - some French or Spanish is really key here as in Dakar in general. I would agree that ground floor rooms are likely a little noisy around breakfast time but the first floor was cool and the room pretty near perfect. Meals in the restaurant we avoided but eating out was an adventure in itself...even with Yango/eSIM.
A bit of variety on the "hot" breakfast. A more international way to pay - perhaps through Remitly/similar. The daytime mosquitoes (remember spray)...but that's really not a hotel issue. Not much at all ;)
