Great room, good location for our trip, good value for the area

No reception staff in case of queries- just needed replenish of tea/coffee so wasn’t a problem at this stay though

Clean and comfortable but not staffed and feels a bit like a ghost town.

The room was large and clean. Towels were changed daily.

Cons:

It was like a ghost town. No staff. No one on reception. Expensive just for a room with no staff around at all. Had a situation at 11pm when we returned to the ‘hotel’ to an alarm blaring and no idea if it was a fire or what it was. Had to ring 24 hour security (who were in another building) to come and sort it which took him 15 mins to arrive and turn it off. To be told he thinks it could be the wind catching the fire door.
There needs to be clearer instructions for ‘check in’ stating clearly that it is unmanned. £75 a night to have no service at all is pretty extortionate.

The Lodge has has been refurbished and our room was recently painted.

we would like to stay here again due to location and price, but look forward to some improvements.

location and price were good

Cons:

the bathroom was really outdated (the hot and cold water did not sync), the pillows could do with replacing, and the room was cold (I had to sleep in a tracksuit)
