Stay here if you want peace.
Pros:

This is a very special small hotel in a very peaceful area. The rooms are lovely, as is the garden and pool. The staff are charming and the food is excellent. We ate breakfast and dinner there.

Cons:

Leaving the villa was hard as it's such a lovely place.

A fabulous stay
Pros:

The owner, Naren, and his team were super; friendly, informative and welcoming. In between our sightseeing, we had great conversations with Naren about the history and culture of this beautiful country. The pool was magnificent as is the architecture and the style of the building. The chef and team ran a cookery course for us, which was brilliant. It was totally hands on and great fun. We made eight dishes then sat down to eat them. Thoroughly enjoyable. We had a fabulous stay.

Beautiful property with lovely staff
Pros:

Very nice property located a short ride outside of Galle. The staff were very kind and helpful and made every effort to look after us. The room was big, clean and well appointed with a great bathroom. Beautiful gardens and pool area. I’d definitely stay here again.

Pros:

Very quiet location 10 min from the beach! We feel like we are in private historical colonial villa with very kindly staff! Lot of different food in breakfast! Wonderful garden with nice pool! Opportunity to rent a bike!

Beautiful property and amazing staff
Pros:

We had an amazing stay at Halcyon Galle.The room and property in general was really beautiful and we enjoyed the amazing view of the garden from the room. Beds were lovely and breakfast delicious. Staff is so friendly and service minded. We really loved it and will be back❤️

Had a great stay.
Pros:

This hotel has a touch of Indian splendour. Loved the pool. Food was excellent. Quick tul tuk ride to Unawatuna beach.

True to it's name
Pros:

Set around beautifully curated gardens full of bird life (peacocks included) Halcyon is a hidden idyll a few kilometres out of the hustle and bustle of Galle.
Rooms are elegantly styled. Wide verandahs provide ample space to unwind. The pool is a step away across plush grass.
Our hosts were very attentive, charming and generous. From a cooking class
(the binjol with pineapple was a standout), an intimate visit to a cinnamon farm to vibrant discussions about Sri Lankan politics, education and health, our hosts ensured we had a stay to remember.
Thank you Naren and Ajith for your hospitality. We loved our stay at Halcyon.

Gorgeous boutique hotel
Pros:

Beautiful area, beautiful building, the most incredible dinner (the mahi mahi was out of this world). Ajith and the team went out of their way to accommodate us, even with a late check in and with early breakfast every day as well as sharing tips of the area. We saw fireflies and bats while chilling in the pool at night, and even spotted a mongoose in the morning, and tons of birds. The room was beautiful and clean and very comfortable.

Cons:

Nothing. It was an exceptional stay.
