Das Haus ist zweckmäßig und übersichtlich strukturiert.
Frühstück war bisher immer sehr reichhaltig, diesmal waren offensichtlich zu wenige Gäste anwesend, daher ist es etwas einfacher ausgefallen.

Cons:

Grundsätzlich war ich bei all meinen bisherigen Besuchen zufrieden und habe auch deshalb schon öfters dort übernachtet.
Diesmal war es leider etwas anders.
Das Zimmer war komplett ausgekühlt (Heizung aus), die kleine Infrarotheizung im Bad lies sich nicht einschalten und wurde trotz freundlicher Bitte und Zusage nicht repariert. Es war sehr ungemütlich.
Kenne ich sonst eigentlich nicht.

Pros:

Das Morada Hotel Gothaer Hof in Gotha ist so ein Hotel, bei dem du nach dem Einchecken kurz prüfst, ob du aus Versehen in ein Zeitreise-Museum geraten bist.

Fangen wir sachlich an:
Das Bett war da.
Das Zimmer hatte eine Tür.
Die Tür hatte ein Schloss.
Meine Erwartungen waren niedrig und wurden zuverlässig erfüllt. Das ist auch eine Form von Service.

Man merkt dem Hotel allerdings an, dass es schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Und zwar nicht so „nostalgisch-charmant“, sondern eher „die Tapete hat Geschichten erlebt, die sie niemandem erzählen will“. Die Betten waren immerhin bequem und sauber, da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Beim Rest war es eher so: Das Zimmer war durchschnittlich sauber, also in etwa der Reinigungsstandard „passt schon, wenn man nicht mit der Taschenlampe sucht“.

Das Bad: deutlich älter, deutlich… ja, auch nicht besonders sauber. Nicht dramatisch, aber sagen wir so: Es hat mich nicht eingeladen, dort länger als nötig zu verweilen. „Noch im Rahmen“ trifft es gut, der Rahmen ist halt nur auch schon etwas vergilbt.

Das Frühstück musste man vorher buchen, was dem Ganzen einen Hauch von Eventcharakter gibt. Und trotz Filterkaffee war es reichlich und insgesamt völlig okay. Ein kleines Highlight: die Kiwi. Sie war grüner als grün. Ich weiß nicht, ob sie unreif war oder ob sie einfach nur aus Prinzip Widerstand geleistet hat. Aber gut, das ist wirklich Meckern auf hohem Niveau, und Niveau ist hier nicht das zentrale Thema.

Wirklich positiv: das Personal. Die Dame am Empfang war sehr nett, und der junge Mann, der das Frühstück gebracht hat, ebenfalls. Freundlich, zuvorkommend, sympathisch, das rettet einiges.

Ansonsten war es… sagen wir: übersichtlich belebt. Außer einem älteren Ehepaar und uns hatte das Hotel gefühlt sehr viel Zeit, über sich selbst nachzudenken.

Fazit: Für eine Nacht okay, wenn du etwas Solides zum Schlafen brauchst, keine großen Ansprüche hast und Humor im Handgepäck dabei ist.
