Jirisan Sunlight hotel is one of the best hotels we ever stayed. Here is why.
1. Location: very conveniently located. Easy access to many places. 10 minutes to bus terminal, 20 minutes to the train station by driving. You can take bus to those places easy.
Bus stop to Sungsamjae (that’s where you start Nogodan peak) is also close by.
one mile to Hwaeomsa temple. Walkway to Hwaeomsa is covered mostly with deck along the creek. Very pleasant walk anytime of the day.
2. Hotel is very clean and quiet. They must have remodeled recently.
3. Hotel owner/operator is friendly and eager to help you with anything.
4. Lots of good restaurants are only steps away. They even serve breakfast which is quite unusual in Korea. We had best fried chicken from 또래오래 restaurant across the street. I always believed in ‘you get what you pay for’ but that does not apply to this hotel. You get a lot more than what you pay for.

Special place to stay if visiting Hwaeomsa!
Pros:

Close to the temple and many restaurants. The balcony looks onto the running creek. Beautiful views!! And the owner is very kind!!!

Cons:

Maybe an issue for people with mobility difficulties, no elevator.

지리산 등산객에게 강추! 여름에도 기대되는 호텔
Pros:

지리산 화엄사 입구와 가까워서 (도보 가능) 지리산 갈 때 묵기 좋아요. 테라스와 야외 테이블도 있고 밖에 물도 흐르던데 오래 즐기고 가지 못해서 아쉽습니다. 객실 청결상태도 아주 좋고 침구류도 편안했어요.
