The breakfast was lovely and it was nice to have table service. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was spotless.
Probably if I was being picky the room was a wee but dated but that wouldn’t put me off returning. Everything that mattered to me ie the staff the cleanliness and the food were very good. Nearly forgot the bed was comfortable too.
Location was good.
Bar on site.
Friendly lady who booked us in and on bar.
Rooms tired (decor).
Thin walls meant we could hear loud TV in nearby rooms until very late.
Shower was old and not very wet!
Was nice breakfast , location a 15min walk to town centre ok in a nice sunny day
I think the host cud hav bn a bit more welcoming never introduced himself or told us anything about evening meals or showed us wer the restaurant was nvr mentioned anything about breakfasts we had to say to him bar nvr opened till 1pm and closed at 11 pm he cudnt get the Tv wurking in the lounge so had to go to our room to watch Scotland game he just never made any effort to ask if we njoyed our stay or just general chit chat he wasn’t rude or anything but cud hav bn a lot more welcoming and friendly
Location was away from the centre of the town so it was quieter which I liked. Very near a bus stop. A short walk to the promenade. Good choice of evening meal and generous portions. Bedroom and bathroom good size and staff friendly.
Nothing.
Had a lovely stay lovely hotel and staff àre amazing, breakfast was great.
We stayed 3 days mid June. Hotel was very clean, food was lovely (heads up to the chef!) We’ll definitely go back for a meal.
A big shout out to Linda who was so helpful and friendly. Also to Linda’s partner and to Ian, the manager, both of whom helped us with our suitcases. The hotel was quiet during our stay which suited us. All staff including housekeeping were lovely. Only drawbacks (for us) were that we found both the shower & tv just too small - and the duvets way too heavy - lighter duvets were not available. Other than that we appreciated the quiet and the old fashioned charm and will definitely be popping back for dinner.
Breakfast was ok, very limited
Rooms and corridors quite old-fashioned, bathroom very small
I stayed in a small double room, room only, for one midweek night in June and paid £100.
The hotel is undeniably dated, especially the bedroom décor, bar/lounge and bathroom fittings. The room would benefit from modernisation, particularly more accessible plug sockets, as I could only see one under the desk. The TV was tiny, although it worked, and the shower was old-fashioned, with separate hot and cold controls rather than a thermostatic mixer.
However, if you look past the dated appearance, I found it reasonable for a 3-star hotel. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water, once adjusted. Wi-Fi was available and fast enough for YouTube streaming.
I did not have breakfast as I was room only, but I did eat in the hotel in the evening. The food was simple rather than refined, but it arrived piping hot and was perfectly acceptable. The hostess could not have been nicer, and the welcome was very warm.
Overall, this is not a modern or stylish hotel, and it clearly needs investment, but it was clean enough, comfortable, functional, and genuinely friendly. On that basis, I felt it deserved a positive review, provided future guests understand that the rooms are traditional and dated rather than contemporary.
Staff are really friendly and helpful
Breakfasts have good choice, good quality, well cooked, catered for my food allergies. Served by friendly staff
Only faults, no lift but bedrooms downstairs. No safety hand grips on bathroom wall.
Great location rooms clean and spacious staff very helpful planning another visit.
Very comfortable bed and very clean. Lovely staff
Rooms are extremely dated as are the bathrooms. Peeling wallpaper in our room

130 pounds 2 single beds a cot and a dbl I didn't ask for that no breakfast no microwave or toaster decaf coffee poor service would not go back dissatisfaction with booking. Com as well
