Great casual and friendly place to stay.
Pros:

The room was spacious for Japan and comfortable and quiet. The lounge area is lovely and the additional breakfast is great. The owner and staff were friendly and super helpful. Would also recommend the restaurant on site.

Excellent location, room and facilities. Loved it and highly recommended!
Pros:

Clean room with wooden flooring instead of carpet. Great facilities, including a massage chair and a decent-sized hot bathtub. The public shower and bath areas are also very nice. Excellent location for ski-in/ski-out access. Friendly staff who speak at least Japanese, English, and Mandarin. Really nice breakfast!

Pros:

This rustic Japanese ryokan is very well located next to a slope of the Tsugaike ski resort. It has ample car parking space, the owners are very nice and they serve delicious breakfast. There is a dry room to store snow gear overnight.

Cons:

The rooms have little furniture and the beds weren't super comfortable.

Great stay, would definitely go back
Pros:

Location was great and the place had a lot of character with all good amenities ands a great restaurant ( breakfast was great and dinner really good)- the bathing was also really good.

Cons:

Could only have shower after 2pm.

Great simple stay near the slope
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful owner. We loved the shared bath facilities downstairs and the ability to do laundry. Location is good, only a short walk from the slope & lift. Ski room in the basement was great. Our tatami room was small, but was what we expected. Might pay extra for proper beds next time. Everything was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Cons:

It was nice to have a restaurant on site but the menu is quite limited and became very repetitive after 2-3 days. Also, the breakfast options are very limited and seem a bit expensive for what it was (we paid 6,000 yen per day for two adults & three small kids that barely ate anything). The addition of some fresh fruit, orange juice, and a bit more variety in general would help a lot.
