Great location, warm welcome. Clean comfrey rooms with a great view. Lovely breakfast to start the day. Loads and easy parking.
Friendly staff
Food was excellent and a broad range, and chef was prepared to make adjustments for the kids meals which really helped.
Rooms were very clean and the views out to sea were superb.
We were made to feel so comfortable, it doesn't get any better than that.
No complaints - some areas looked a little dated - but it didn't matter or change our experience.
Great breakfast
Rooms are very small and beds are tiny for two people.
A lovely run family hotel. We stayed two nights and had dinner one night. The dinner was really good and we would highly recommend. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. We will definitely stay again.
Very clean warm and comfortable
Nothing
Visited with in-laws. Warm greeting at the door. Excellent maitre d’ service, plus waiting service. Food was very tasty and timely. Italian white wine was crisp and fresh - lovely. Menu was simple and straightforward but with flavour and texture. Ended up having three courses! Views were lovely.
Location couldn't be better. Wonderful views. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. The dining room is lovely and the food was excellent. Our sea view room was immaculate warm and well appointed. Lots of hot water, shower could do with updating.
Great location
Great food
Wonderful staff
The Hotel is well situated for North Devon, has a friendly atmosphere, we were made very welcome on arrival. nothing was too much trouble. we took my Mother for a trip down memory lane and celebrated her 97th Birthday. we invited some of her friends to join us for a Birthday Lunch. the whole experience went so well, Staff and Management were both Professional, attentive and so friendly. we had ground floor sea view rooms which were spacious, clean and warm. If I had to make a negative observation, the shower in the Ensuite was a bit low powered (big deal? not really). we did benefit from the fact that the Hotel wasn't too busy and was quiet, we with hearing aids managed well.
The Lunchtime Menu had a good selection but the evening meal was a choice of 3 mains etc. having said that the food was good.
I think that when you take into account the Location, cleanliness, facilities and Atmosphere this hotel is good value for money in my opinion .
I can't thank the staff etc enough for making my Mother's Birthday and stay so enjoyable.
we were so well looked after by both staff & management, the owner works as hard as his staff
Bath shower
What a lovely two days we had for my husband’s 80th birthday. Our room had a wonderful view and fulfilled my needs as a disabled person . The staff were friendly and welcoming ,bringing in our luggage and giving us tea and biscuits… very nice indeed. We both enjoyed every minute and would certainly like to return . Thank you all very much .
As soon as you step out of your car you are welcomed as though you were part of the family, it truly is a home from home atmosphere.
The hotel itself overlooks the confluence of the River Taw and the River Torridge as they meet facing the pretty village of Appledore.
I have stayed in several rooms over many visits, each one has been immaculate with refreshment's provided, the rooms are spacious with everything you may need for your trip, from shampoo to towels and hairdryers.
The service is second to none with the staff being both attentive and courteous, nothing is too much trouble for them and they will go out of their way to help you.
The Hotel's Dining facilities are on the ground floor with stunning views across the estuary to Appledore.
You are well away from any traffic noise and ambient noise from nearby buildings is hardly noticeable.
The beach at the nearby Town of Westward Ho is breath-taking and well worth the drive, Bideford is another Town well worth the ten minute drive from the Hotel.
Excellent service by the staff, food was outstanding quality, plenty of orange juice and cereal's to hand.
nothing i would change about the whole experence.
Hotel ,food and very efficient and friendly staff at your excellent hotel. Location overlooking Instow is perfect. We will stay again in the future.
Amazing hotel, staff couldnt be more helpful. If you are in Instow, I would highly recommend.
The breakfast was excellent, as was the location. A number of good pubs and eateries within walking distance. Views from the restaurant across the estuary is stunning. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We didn’t ask but unsure of what options were available for eating lunch or dinner at the hotel.
