The location was perfect for an early morning train to Shimla
The team were very friendly and helpful
The rooms were huge and the beds spacious
The value was exceptional
Nothing, it was exactly right
The location, staff, facilities.
The shower needs urgent attention...the hot water came easily from the bathroom tap but wouldn't come out of the shower which had a trickle of cold water coming from shower head
Ok
Fantastic location, very convenient for Train Travelers. Staff was great, we arrived super late at 5 AM (delayed from 3 AM) and staff was there greeting us with a smile and had our room ready.
This is a basic hotel, just as expected and advertised. Perfect for our needs. The bathroom had a window between the room and the bathroom, I didn't care for that
Walkable distance from kalka railway station. Was easy to catch our early morning Shimla Toy train. We had so many luggage - the hotel staff was kind enough to carry all those to the top floor up and down (No lift) and he himself arranged an auto rickshaw to carry luggage to the Railway station
Water supply was not smooth
Property is very near to railway station Kalka. I booked for three persons in a room (family) but they provided me two rooms. So I have to spent more money. Kettle provided in the room was found not clean. Water force in the bathroom is very slow running. No shaving material,
toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided.
Not satisfied
Walking distance from Railway station.
Good
Nice
Proximity to the railway station - very walkable.
Cleaner pillows and sheets. Chairs are a tad dirty too. Not expecting 5* quality, but the place could be a bit cleaner. Otherwise, the stay was good.
Everything
Employes are very welcoming and helpful. The locatation is perfect, just 5 min walk from the railway.
Great location if catching a train as only a few minutes walk to station
Bed comfortable.
Was what I expected for a budget accomodation
N/A
The room was not too spacious and the food options were limited
Nothing. Wouldn't recommend this place even to my enemies. Felt unsafe as a single woman.
Arrived around 10 pm after 8–9 hours of exhausting travel and had already informed the staff in advance to keep the room ready. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of a very disappointing stay.
The room was in a shoddy, dirty condition. Basic essentials were missing — no toiletries, no toilet roll, no kettle, no water bottles, no tea/coffee supplies, no slippers, no bathrobe. I had to repeatedly call the staff for these items, and even then they wouldn’t bring everything.
They actually resisted giving a kettle, and when one finally arrived, it was filthy with layers of dirt and looked like something from the 80s. It didn’t even work properly. It was so unhygienic that I chose not to use it at all.
To make things worse, the lights went off at 2 am with no backup. I had to wake up again at 4 am for my onward journey, so getting proper rest was impossible.
For a stay that cost close to ₹3600, this was nowhere near acceptable — honestly not even worth ₹500.
Would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
Great location 500 mtrs from train station for the link up to Shimla. Walkable to town for restaurant. Good value for money, trying hard with upgrading.
The main advantage of this hotel is the location. It is one of the closest options to the train station, which was exactly what we needed before our early morning toy train to Shimla. The station is just a couple of minutes away on foot. The hotel is on a closed street with no cars, only people and motorbikes, which made it feel calm and easy to reach. It seems that many guests stay here for the same reason, to catch the train in the morning.
The hotel itself is very small, with only a few rooms, which made the stay feel quiet and peaceful. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and polite, and left a really pleasant impression. Room service is available and the food menu has a good variety. The hotel is a bit worn and the furniture and appliances are old, but everything was clean and tidy.
The hotel is a little outdated, and the bathroom, especially the shower, could be improved. It was manageable for one night, but probably would not be very comfortable for a longer stay.
