Exceptional
Pros:

Large (much larger than anticipated), clean rooms with a modern bathroom with shower. TV on wall (plus sport in the lobby) and the wifi worked well. Staff were friendly, asked us to make breakfast choice on arrival so that it would be ready at a time of our choice in the cafe. And, indeed, the Soviet-themed cafe/restaurant/bar is outstanding, possibly my favourite of all I've visited in Kazakhstan all year. Five rooms designed in retro Soviet style (including a train carriage and cinema), great food at very reasonable prices, beers (and vodka, of course) and friendly staff. Thank you!

Cons:

Location is not particularly central, though this did leave us a pleasant Sunday morning walk back into town. But the pros easily outweigh this - I couldn't recommend it enough!
