Location for hiking was perfect
The bar was very disappointing and the restaurant was average at best.
Fine central location in the mountains
Nothing
Location and food
Room and facilities
View was lovely, rooms were toasty warm in the middle of winter
Room wasn't very clean, bunch of black hairs on floor and in sink from previous customers
The location and scenery was beautiful
It was very quiet, not open until 12.30 no Irish staff and it should be thriving for where it it is.
The hotel was very comfortable and in a beautiful location that was conveniently located for hiking at Glendalough. The room was spacious, comfy and clean. The breakfasts and dinners were very nice. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking if travelling by car.
Nothing!
Prachtige ligging en echt Ierse sfeer. Aardig personeel. Goede bar. Leuk publiek
The view from our room. Parking was great. The outside ‘coffee area’. The breakfast space. The food was nice & the staff were awesome from reception to the waiter at dinner!
The toilets in the public area were tired & needed some work.
Rooms quite dated.
Windows in restaurant covered in cobwebs.
Glasses not clean.
Views parking
Asked for double bed got 2 singles and separate duvets room was unclean stains on carpet stains and on skirting boards windows were filthy
Great location for a hotel, right at the foot of the Wicklow mountain range. For walkers, cyclists and bikers this is a great stop.
Rooms were clean and tidy.
Food either for dinner or breakfast was lovely. Just wish we had arrived earlier and got to eat outside as it looked very cool.
Exploring the grounds, with the monument is a must. (depending on time of year though tack bug repellent for the little midgies).
Staff were super accommodating, even letting us get the drone up for some footage of the grounds.
Room was a touch small, but again minor issue.
Breakfast not starting until 8:15 was a little annoying, again purely as we planned an early set off.
The friendliness of the staff and the place. I was made very welcome. Lovely hotel recently renovated (still being renovated). Food was lovely and room was lovely and clean.
The owner walking around checking everything. Even though this is good it’s a bit too much!
Parking included in price (although price/service is way too much for what you get); kettle and tea/coffee in the room. Shower (over head only) was nice and warm (at least that, thankfully). The staff are lovely and accommodating - I could bring my dinner to the room and eat in peace (with a jacket on - the room was cold).
The hotel is old and smells - the old smell is one thing, but the smell in the room (cleaning agent? Air freshener?) was sickening. The rooms are freezing cold and not well cleaned. The heating seemed to be working only on the corridors - both the room and the breakfast area were freezing so I spent my evening in bed and ate breakfast in my winter jacket. Bonus - you do not need the fridge - my banana froze on the windowsill at night. The breakfast itself is very poor - with the bacon looking like it was steamed rather than fried… I was not at all impressed considering the price I paid. There was no view and the hotel is not directly at the lake either.
