Comfortable bed. Great location and the breakfast was very nice, although 1 slice of toast and 1 pat of butter and 1 cup of coffee were a bit stingy. I couldn't fault the cooked breakfast though.
I'd have preferred to be asked if I wanted any more of the above.
Had lots of character and was in a wonderful spot, the views were beautiful.
excellent steak and ale pie for dinner. Large bedroom but bathroom and shower showed their age. Easy walk into centre of Malton, great views
shower
Easy access and easy check out..Safe and cool environment

The property is well located for accessing Malton and the surrounding areas. The staff were really helpful when we were struggling to park due to the car park being full.
The rooms was very tired, the carpets are old and look very dirty. The wallpaper in our room was peeling, there were crumbs all over the floor and on the seats, the remote control for the TV didn’t work. The single pane windows rattled so loudly in the night that I didn’t get any sleep. The small single room for my son didn’t have a lamp and looked very unwelcoming- he described it looking like a prison cell!
Whilst the staff were really lovely, when we checked in the man who greeted us couldn’t tell me where our room was saying it could be the first floor or the top floor!
Good
Mattress and pillows
Food was lovely room was perfect and staff couldn’t do enough
Close to where I was working, will definitely use again
Friendly easy good location
Bathroom not quite 100% Loo seat broken. Couple of hairs …
Good value for money. Location was brilliant. Short walk from station but also had plenty of parking at front of hotel. Very clean, good breakfast, friendly staff, great atmosphere in bar. Would definitely return.
It was all great.
The location
It was overpriced
Staff are polite
Room heating
Location great for the town centre.
Assistant manager (manager) very helpful.
Lady who looks after breakfast, excellent.
Other than the bathrooms which have been renovated, the rooms are pretty much past their sell by date.
The staff were absolutely amazing, really friendly and welcoming both in the bar and at breakfast. A lively bar in the evening and the bar staff so lovely. The breakfast was excellent too. Location of The Mount also excellent, within walking distance to the town and all the bars/restaurants/market place. Also convenient for the bus as it is on the Coastliner route so we took the bus to Pickering one day but you can go all the way to Whitby or Scarborough if desired.
The only slight negative comment would be that the shower hose could do with a bit of attention from a plumber as was not working correctly however we did let the staff know this but as we were only there for 3 nights we did not expect it to be fixed straight away and it didn't preclude us from actually using the shower. This would not be an issue that would stop us from staying at The Mount in the future.
The room was spacious and clean, the en suite was very modern, and spotless with plenty of towels and hot shower. Tea and coffee making, iron and ironing board and free view TV. The view was great from the room too. Breakfast was hot and plentiful and served in the bar/dining area by friendly staff.
Parking spaces are limited to around ten cars and we got the last one when we arrived just after check in time. The only other thing is the windows are single glazed and draughty, to passing cars can be heard all through the night. The heating in the room was good enough to keep it warm, but we think the sash windows could benefit from same work.
It was close to town centre, not far to walk.
We didn't like anything about the Mount - so much so that we didn't even stay, we drove back home after being there for an hour. The room was cold and uninviting, the quilt on the bed didn't look like it would keep us warm in such a cold room.
The skirtings and architrave weren't finished (just bare wood) the wardrobe door didn't shut properly and felt like it was going to fall off when you opened it. Bathroom wasn't necessarily dirty, but was old looking which gave it the appearance of being dirty. Didn't realise when I booked, that it was a pub and bar as well, and it was very noisy. We didn't stay!!
The staff were friendly
The bathroom wasn’t very clean and the rooms are pretty run down
Location fine. Cooked breakfast was fine. But very poor alternatives for anyone not wanting a cooked breakfast
We expected our room would have been serviced. Eg hoovered. Bed made. new towels. Bathroom cleaned. Etc
