Location filled what I required when booking. I was left to my own devices but help was rapidly given if asked for.
1. The mirror in the bathroom of the room occupied (The Dome) is too small and frankly, too low. I found it awkward to use to shave. I recommend that it should either be replaced with an unframed article in view of the position of the light above. (This remark was passed on to Management on leaving).
The following is not a "Dislike" but I feel that enquirers for accommodation should be aware.
2. People booking accommodation at No 6 The Square are very strongly advised to contact the management as soon as possible after doing so if they have mobility issues. Most of the rooms apparent to me are located up two flights of stairs. That known as "The Dome" and allocated to me, however, can only be reached after a further rather awkward and narrow flight of stairs. (This remark was not discussed with management but is included as I was not aware of the room allocated until after I had arrived)
Friendly and exceptionally helpful staff.
Nothing
A very interesting and unusual building,
centrally located in beautiful Buxton. The staff were all helpful, kind and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities very good. Delicious food in the tearooms.
Nothing to dislike! It was quite expensive, mainly because it was peak time in the Buxton festival.
I'd like to stay longer next time.
A very nice stay in a spacious room with a very comfortable bed.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good Location by the pavilion park , lovely accommodations although a little dated.
Friendly hosts
Only a minor issue, the step into the bedroom kept catching us out
Furniture was a bit dusty, the lampshades
Comfortable bed and chairs. Spacious room and very attractively decorated.
Central location.
Helpful young man showing us tounf.
A lot of stairs yo climb. A big pricey but it was a Saturday night.
Ridiculous shower room (tiny; almost no water; broken shower tap; super small washing basin).
Proximity to town centre easy to find
All good
We were blown away when we walked into the accommodation. It was as if we had walked into someone's home. Equipped and furnished to a very high standard. We felt privileged to be allowed to stay there!
Just one slight niggle: the written instructions in the welcome folder for Wi-Fi connection was incorrect but we figured it out and all was good.
Quiet location in the heart of town
Blinds let in light in the bedroom and bathroom too far away from the bedroom
Very pretty well thought out room . Comfortable bed . Friendly and helpful staff . We had an excellent breakfast in the morning, not included in the room rate but decided to stay and have breakfast there anyway . Very glad we did and it was very good value . We also had a meal there mid-afternoon which fitted in with our time schedule. We thought we would be limited to tea and cakes but there is more . We had the Special of the day and so had salmon with prawns, new potatoes and beans . Then cake, which is delicious . The guest sitting room is very beautiful and elegant .
Parking - they no longer have permits. You can park outside but only if you can get a space and maximum 4 hours in the day . We managed but it’s pot luck .
Once the tearoom is shut you have to use the back steps to go in or out . Coming back at 11.30pm was difficult. The steep stone steps were slippery with rain and there was only a tiny ineffective light . Essential they get better lighting - it’s an accident waiting to happen .
Having a whole apartment to ourselves which was well equipped, very clean and breakfast was delicious in the tearoom. In a great location to explore Buxton.
Location was great in lovely building. Very nice room..
Second floor room up steep stairs with no lift.
We stayed 1 night for our 20th Anniversary, we really enjoyed our stay, the room was lovely and spacious, and the building it self was great. The location was ideal; we had a lovely view from our room across to the park and the opera house.
We found lots of bars and restaurants nearby, and the town centre and all of Buxton's historical places were also very close.
We'd definitely look to book again!
