Nice comfy bed, quiet and decent shower
Staff were lovely and very helpful. Room we had was clean and spacious. Nicely decorated although bathroom somewhat dated.
Location great, short walk to Penarth high street shops.
Nothing.
Only minor issue was kettle in the room was too big to fit in sink to fill up and turning the bath taps only seemed to make shower work so resorted to filling it up by pouring water into it from a glass.
Location was convenient
Only one bedside lamp worked and the electrics were poor and an extension lead could be a hazard.
The window sill was dirty.
Unable to open the curtains well.
The TV and controller didn't work.
Noise transfer from other rooms was very poor.
I stayed in room 16,
The mattress on the bed had big dips in it, one was so big I kept rolling into it, needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep,
That mattress needs to be changed!!
The old tradition of the hotel was different with the multiple keys for entrance to the hotel and room.
Where do I begin? Noting that it is a 2 star hotel it is never going to have air con but given it was a low 30s weekend in Cardiff they could have at least had a fan in the room as a standalone fan. When I booked the room I did not know it wasn't going to be a private room but a separate bathroom for my private use which you know again with the tradition I didn't mind the idea at first but then the quirkiness of it all wore pretty thin once you walked on the tiles which felt like they could give way at any stage and then you had the taps for the shower which were almost impossible to work to get consistent hot water. Also even with the heat the bed was incredibly uncomfortable to sleep on and again for a 2 star hotel (which does have a good rating on Booking.com) you expect better.
Location is excellent. Town is lovely.
Parking was a pain.
The pipes in the room made an horrendous noise. Luckily I had some ear plugs for my site visit or I don’t think I would have slept.
Room generally tired and things hanging a bit.
Kettle was yellow and too big to fill with water from the sink.
Breakfast was not included in my price but they did me an excellent breakfast for reasonable payment
Everything was good
Very clean comfortable room. No issues. Very quiet area.
Room on 2nd floor up a lot of stairs
