Old and run down, but convenient for a layover.
Pros:

Since we only had a short layover in Dalian (about 12 hours) the location of this hotel was most important. It was about 10 min away by car from the airport. The bed was OK.

Cons:

- It looked like it was last renovated about 30 years ago. Everything inside was old and looked dilapidated, nothing like the pictures.
- The elevator and hallways smelled really bad.
- The staff couldn’t speak any English.
- When we checked in, they used my friend’s info (he is Chinese national) to book the room in his name on the spot. I later found out that they didn’t communicate our arrival to booking.com at all and marked me as “cancelled - no show” for no reason.
- There was no hot water. The shower was lukewarm at best, and the shower doors didn’t close properly so just a 5-min wash resulted in the whole bathroom being wet. Also the shower head wasn’t screwed on properly and almost fell off.
- They didn’t have real towels, just some paper-like disposable ones.
