Pros:

Hôtel bien situé, chambre très confortable, la décoration originale et la salle pour prendre un thé ou un rafraîchissement à tout heure.

Very comfortable stay with a beautiful view
Pros:

Location is perfect, probably the best in the city. Very nice design of the rooms. Breakfast was very good and afternoon coffee with delicious cakes at the terrace was unexpected nice option. I will come back for sure.

What an amazing themed room/hotel. It was such a fun room with an amazing shower. Took us a bit of time to find the tv - so cool. The breakfast was outstanding. Great location

Pros:

Awesome breakfast, excellent staff, cool hotel, best beds! Rooms are cool, so many details, rooftop tea, easy access to great restaurants and tourist attractions.

Gorgeous room in a great location
Pros:

The room felt really decident, huge room and bed, with wonderful windows with a great view. The bathroom facilities also felt luxurious. Excellent location in the heart of Coimbra.

Cons:

Suggest putting a coffee machine in the room, feels right given the luxuriousness of the room.

Stay here. It’s amazing and great value
Pros:

A super modern and very clean hotel centrally located in Coimbra. The Joanina library theme worked well for us. It made the hotel exceptional. The clear doors on the bathroom and shower were not an issue as they are in a separate area. Please ignore all the one star reviews from people who arrived with a child despite it being clearly stated that it’s an adult only hotel. They are doing the hotel a disservice. It’s super and amazing value. Stay here!!!

Es war wirklich perfekt, wenngleich wir die Kritiken bzgl. des fehlenden Lichts teilen. Aber da hat jeder ja unterschiedliche Bedürfnisse.

This must be on of the best boutique hotels in Portugal.
Pros:

Probably one of the finest boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The theme of the hotel is mirroring the famous Joanne Library located in the town’s impressive university. However the replica bookcases lining the walls of much of the rooms are made from beautiful marble with gold lettering. The finish of the fittings to all rooms in the hotel is of a very high standard indeed. There is a lovely rooftop breakfast area overlooking the town as no its river which also gives access to a fabulous rooftop terrace. Currently it doesn’t have a B license for drinks but here’s hoping.

Ok if you don' t mind transparent glass walls for bathroom
Pros:

Books- shaped walls and many mirrors were unique. Staff has been great: friedly,smiling and always ready to help.
The free afternoon tea and biscuits has been a pleasant surprise.
Location is great, just in the middle of the touristic places.

Cons:

The bathroom has a very questionable architecture. Both the shower and the wc have transparent glass windows, with no possibility to add any covers on them and having a direct view to a smart TV+mirror screen (which could be recording non- stop with today' s state-of-the-art technology, and even if it' s not done, it feels like in 'Big brother is watching you' scenario). Also, there is no intimacy if, for example, the cleaning person enters the room and one is in the bathroom or the shower; they would be completely exposed to whoever enters the room.
The wc space is also very small, barely any place to move and the activation of the flushing water requires long hand contact with a part of the wall; hopefully that one is well cleaned and desinfected.
For a single traveller, it is tolerable few days; for a couple or a parent with an adult child, it would have been a nightmare. Apparently the hotel also accepts only adults, and probably the strange bathroom arhitecture is the reason for this.
