Bit bitey! Use insect repellent in evening and on balcony

There was barely ever anyone at the front desk. We had to message the hotel through booking.com to organize anything and then wait for the receptionist to appear whom had very little interest in serving us and made us feel like a bit of a burden. Con Dao being a smaller place doesnt have many tourism offices so most tours etc are normally booked through hotels. We were unable to do this so we actually had to venture out to neighboring hotels to book scooters and tours (we found that the Mystery hotel was great).

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to foreign tourists unless you're looking for a very hands off place to stay.

There were a few things that made my stay here less enjoyable.

1) communication prior to arrival was poor. I made the booking on here, and had one message from them asking if I wanted airport pick up. They did not respond to my reply. Friends of mins prior to arrival had had a message about paying a deposit in order to confirm the room. I did not receive this message as they entered my phone number wrong. Subsequently, when I arrived to check in they told me that they had cancelled my room..This could have potentially ruined my trip and had I been alone I probably would have just given up and gone to another hotel, even though the error was theirs.

2)The rooms have a nice balcony with a pleasant outlook. Unfortunately, although well lit you do not have control of this in your rooms so you have to have this offensively bright white light on until 9:45 when the hotel Switches it off for.you. I am an adult, let me have control of my own balcony light, please.

3)As there is no breakfast at this hotel some free coffee and tea to go in the rooms would be a nice touch.
