Pros:

Location, hotel staff very polite and efficient, lovely setting, excellent breakfast

Cons:

The Fat Abbot pub lets the place down. Menu hasn’t changed in years, food is just at best average. In busy periods slow service.

Amazing sized room for a "standard" room, breakfast was nice and there was a good selection, spa facilities were great and tbe location is perfect for countryside feel with only a short drive to the city centre.

Cons:

Clutching at straws here, the electric radiator was a bit finicky to use

Pros:

Nice big old building. Staff were all really friendly.
Great value for money compared to some of the hotels in the area. Restaurant was brilliant

Cons:

It was a bit dated, but sort of to be expected with such an old building. Definitely needed a new kettle in room 27

Friendly greeting at reception, our room was ready! Lovely comfortable room, with good facilities, tea/coffee, plenty of towels, we were able to control the heating of the room! Nice and quiet with lovely views!

Lovely location and in beautiful settings

Cons:

The gym wasn’t very clean.. machines were dirty and the floor was dirty and required a good hoover around the machines. Gym needs a deep clean.

Great location and facilities. Just as we wanted for our three nights exploring the area.
Pros:

All that we expected from the details shown on booking.com, great to have the pool and spa facilities within the price. Room comfortable and breakfast did the job. Located a short drive away from a Park and Ride car park for York, handily at the Designer Outlet Village. Dinner at The Fat Abbott exceeded expectations, and we also had one meal and the next door Thai restaurant.

Cons:

Rooms could do with slight updating. Breakfast although good could have been hotter.
