Very friendly and nothing too much trouble
Pros:

Perfect for wedding at Blake Hall. Staff very friendly and welcoming
Good value and lovely cooked breakfast

Cons:

Had 2 rooms, very basic could maybe do with a vanity table.. Mattress's possibly need upgrading, the pub shuts in the day except the weekend, not made clear on booking.com,breakfast is continental and you pay extra for cooked,also not made clear on booking.com

Wonderful value; I would stay here again!
Pros:

The fact that it was sepaarte to the actual pub itself in a contained block and easy to access. The shower was amazing we had the twin room and didn't expect a TV either , however there it was! The breakfast was probably one if the best breakfasts I have eaten also with the choice of fresh fruit, yoghurtss, toast and cooked breakfast for a little extra cost. Excellent value.

Cons:

THe bedding is a little dated; I would have expected a quilt of some sort rather than a blanket and sheet.

The owner/landlady was lovely. She made us feel very welcome. She even made us a lovely sandwich to take on our walk the next day 😀

Highly recommend a basic comfortable stay
Pros:

Had a lovely feeling as soon as I walked into the pub, greeted so warmly by Nicola (I hope I got her name right) and enjoyed the banter and the chat from her husband Tony at the bar, the accommodation was clean and had a nice fresh smell walking into the room, although my partner thought the bed was uncomfortable I thought it was ok, had a really nice hot meal of cod and chips and a full English breakfast cooked to perfection. Thank you will visit again.

Pros:

Lovely old fashioned and cosy pub with a huge car park ideal for parking the van when working away. The food was exceptional, decent prices and massive portions. The host was very welcoming too, couldn't fault the customer service.

Pros:

Kerbside of the Pub itself is bright and welcoming. Hanging baskets and attention to detail. I didn’t drink or eat at the pub as just needed local accommodation.

Cons:

The annexe to the pub for accommodation is out of date but the room I stayed in was very poor. On opening the door it was very musty. Net curtain over the window has holes in it, spiders in the room, which at this time of year is perhaps unavoidable. But there’s no excuse for cleanliness.
Bed sheet (single bed) had spots of what looked faded like blood stains, the bathroom towels are probably 20+ years old and were threadbare, and about as thick as a dried out Ryvita!
Toilet bowl had evidence of a squirt of toilet cleaner but the bottom is stained …… not very nice.
The shower is good and powerful once it warmed up but I doubt that the shower head has been cleaned in a long time as the water jets were all over the place. Only a small single which is not a problem but there’s no excuse for the lack of cleaning and ancient bed linen and towels. The room was £75 for one night …… I’d advise to book elsewhere.

Perfect location for the Country Calling Music Festival
Pros:

I was travelling on my own to attend a local event and so was literally at the hotel to shower, sleep and have breakfast; the hotel wasn't the 'destination' in and of itself. It served my purposes perfectly. The staff were welcoming, helpful and flexible (because of my event I really needed to check in very late). They had gluten, wheat and dairy free options for breakfast. The room was simple and basic, but clean and fresh, and so that's all I needed. I would stay here again if I attend local events.

Cons:

The room was a bit small and basic, but I don't feel cheated; I got what I paid for and to be fair I was hardly in it as I was out at an event. (I could have paid more and got a better room, but didn't see the point).

Friendly, cosy and beautiful location.
Pros:

Lovely country local. Food was hearty and homely. Accommodation was adequate and cosy. Couldn't have breakfast as leaving early so the lady who runs the pub made me sandwiches and crisps to take with me 😊

Cons:

Dust above the curtain pole and curtains. And noisy road at night. Not their fault at all but a country road with boy racers in the early hours.

Location lovely, meal Saturday night excellent as was breakfast, the staff were very accomodating and efficient. Lovely to have a fan in the bedroom, that was a real bonus. Thankyou
