Normally I tend to stay in all inclusive, boutique or star resorts with a more traditional luxury feel, so this stay was completely outside of my comfort zone. However, it ended up being one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed.
Mr Penny was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived. He gave us such a warm welcome and took the time to share the history of the property and the surrounding area, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic.
Although the property is tucked away in the depths of the jungle and we were greeted by a baby gecko on arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and well thought out everything was. My biggest concern before arriving was mosquitoes, but I did not get a single mosquito bite during the entire stay. The mosquito nets on the windows, the fans providing cool air, and all the little details showed how much care had gone into making guests comfortable. You would definitely need a car or some sort of transportation to reach the beaches as the priority is almost at the end of the island, it is however walking distance from Ricks Cafe which is famous for its cliff-diving.
The outdoor shower was such an amazing experience and made the stay feel truly authentic and connected to nature and Jamaica itself. The water was always beautifully hot, the property felt incredibly safe as it is located within a gated community, and once inside you feel completely secure.
Overall, it was a peaceful, unique, and unforgettable stay that I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for something different and genuinely special.
The only thing I was disappointed about was not getting the chance to experience the restaurant, as I had read so many amazing reviews about it before arriving. Unfortunately, because we visited out of season, it was closed during our stay. Mr Penny proudly told us he is a ‘jerk master’, so we will definitely have to return during season to try his famous jerk for ourselves. Aside from that, there honestly was not anything I disliked about the stay overall.

Sehr schönes Gelände und tolles Haus. Nur leider kein Strand, obwohl es in der Beschreibung auftaucht.
Die Zimmer sind unter der Decke miteinander verbunden, man hört alles, was im anderen Zimmer passiert. Sehr viele Mosquitos. Man braucht unbedingt ein Mosquitonetz zum Schlafen! Wie hatten welche dabei, also alles gut.
Alles super gut
Eine sehr ruhige und außerordentlich schöne Anlage der Cabin's. Tolles und sehr schmackhaftes Frühstück und Abendessen, alles frisch zubereitet. Sehr, sehr nette Gastgeber, unterhaltsame, informative Gespräche. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

n'étant pas motorisé, on est un peu décentré et soit il faut prendre un taxi et se renseigner sur ce qu'il y a à faire dans le coin, que ce soit bars, restaurants ou autres lieux d'intérêts dans les environs... mais pour aller nager, j'ai trouvé la piscine de l'hôtel xtabi très agréable et faisable à pied ou sinon le taxi "road taxi" (local) jusqu'à l'entrée de négril et marcher un peu ! tout à fait faisable...
Beautiful scenery
Bed was infested with bed bugs and mites which caused skin rashes and bites. Kitchen was very cheap and basic facilities.
Mosquito netting was provided and cheap slow ceiling fan was merely cosmetic.
2 hard single beds were pushed together for couples,and the shower was basic constantly over flooding.
Cleaners were OBVIOUSLY tired and reluctant to change bedding and sweep daily.
Sound proofing would have been beneficial due to close proximity of cabins...
Management Constantly Undertook Loud maintenance work with Burning down of WOOD etc...
Loved the warmth and hospitality of the owners. Loved the lush trees and beautiful flowers. Loved the semi-detached and detached cabins dotted around the property. Loved the jerk chicken & jerk pork we had at the restaurant (well seasoned and cooked to perfection). Loved the choice of salads, especially the potato salad. Loved the peace and tranquility of the whole place.

La signora Inge è un’ottima padrona di casa, ci ha accolto e consigliato per il nostro soggiorno in modo amichevole. La struttura è molto bella, immersa nella natura e ha un’ottima colazione e un buon ristorante per la cena. Atmosfera rilassante
Connessione a tratti instabile
The inn focuses on nature. There’s no AC in the rooms but they’re quite cool being located in the shade of all the trees. Even can get a bit chilly at night. Some rooms had no tv but I didn’t mind. Some of them do but just ask. Very lovely place. Would come again! Inga & Penny the owners are fantastic hosts.
