nothing very bad service
there was no water
Reasonable price room, good sunrise view from the balcony and right next to a rickshaw stand.
Once we finally got into our room staff helped us up with our bags.
The rooms were a good size with a balcony. A basic bathroom and despite being on a main road was not too noisy.
We arrived at 6am on the 22nd Jan by night bus having informed the hotel of our early arrival the day before and when we booked in November.
The security guard was asleep but woke up when we tried the gate and took us to the reception area.
The man sleeping in the lobby woke up and then went to wake another man who came to reception.
We gave them our booking name and also our booking reference. He asked when we had booked as they seemed to have no proper booking system, only messages on a smartphone and couldn't find our details. (it was booked on Booking.com so suprised they couldn't just access everything from there.
We were then told all the rooms were occupied and we would be able to access access the room at 10am.
We then asked if we could leave our bags there and go out to a temple, at which point we were told to find another hotel.
Eventually he found the booking after about 45 mins of sitting in reception.
We were then told check in was from 12pm. So again we asked about leaving our bags and at this point we were advised we could check in now for an extra 500R . (Which contradicted what we were told earlier that all rooms were occupied)
Tired and needing to rest we paid the 500R (which had to be cash not card) and finally got to check in at 7am, only after trying to explain that UK passports don't have an address on but shows clearly on it that it is a UK passport and British citizen.
I also had to show my driving licence which has address but which also doesn't show the county.
Satara is not a western tourist destination so it felt like if you weren't an Indian national they didn't know who to process you.
Also after being asked if we wanted a room at the back or the front (again interesting as they told us all rooms were occupied) we asked which was quietest, and told the back. Choosing a room at the back we were then taken to a room at the front without AC and a very noisy ceiling fan.
Would we stay here again? Sadly...
