Charming castle style chateau with Georgian vibe.
Pros:

Gorgeous property in old castle style with Georgian traditions. It is sinking in the luxurious greens: grapes, fruit trees, roses and mysterious ivy. There are two outdoor swimming pools. We prefer the one with the charming view of the mountains. It has an elevator, which was very important for my 82-year old mother. Our rooms were pretty spacious with the stunning mountains view. The beds were comfortable, clean linens. It was complimentary water bottles in the room, which was so thoughtful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We also took a horse ride in the woods, with our guide Alex. It was very memorable and brought a great feelings of interaction with beautiful animals.

Cons:

There is nothing you wouldn’t like about this property. It feels warm and home like.

Cons:

We are very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. As you can see from the photos, the condition of the room was unacceptable. It is very unfortunate that we were unable to enjoy our stay because of this. We didn’t even stay for breakfast and left the hotel early in the morning. The only positive aspect of our experience was the staff, who were kind and pleasant.

Если есть какая-то высшая, недосягаемая степень оценки, она должна быть названа в честь «Шато Мере»! Этот отель в Кахетии — не просто место для отдыха, а настоящая машина времени, переносящая в мир аристократического шарма и беззаботности .
Здесь восхищает всё. Величественное здание из грубого камня со смотровыми башнями напоминает родовое поместье эксцентричного, но невероятно гостеприимного аристократа . А интерьер… Это идеальный баланс аутентичной старины и уюта: деревянные полы, антикварное пианино, старый патефон и обилие теплого текстиля создают невероятно душевную атмосферу . Комнаты безупречно чистые и очень красивые .
Но главное сокровище — это люди. Хозяин Джордж и его команда встречают гостей не как туристов, а как старых друзей . Это обслуживание с душой, где каждое желание угадывается, а искренняя забота запоминается надолго .
А какой вид открывается с террасы на бескрайнюю Алазанскую долину и величественные Кавказские горы! Это зрелище, от которого захватывает дух, особенно на закате с бокалом их великолепного Саперави или ароматного Хихви .
Кухня — отдельная поэма. Вкуснейшие домашние сыры, сочное мясо и легендарная выпечка превращают каждый ужин в гастрономический праздник, а местные вина из квеври просто божественны .
«Шато Мере» — это идеал грузинского гостеприимства. Это место, в которое хочется возвращаться снова и снова

Вдали от города.
Вид из номера отличный.
Территория большая мест для прогулок / фотографий предостаточно.
Бассейн хороший, но не для маленьких детей, т.к. весь глубокий.
Завтрак нормальный - шведский стол.

Cons:

Вдали от города - нет выбора мест где поесть. На ужин для ребенка заказали рыбу которую так и не дождались... каждый раз срок готовки переносили на 10-15 минут. вероятно это из за того что в этом ресторане проходило торжество и может рыбы не оказалось или повар устал), а так все остальные блюда на ужин нормальные.
в отеле/ресторане только один плохо русскоговорящий сотрудник.

Pros:

Прекрасный отель и ресторан! Давно мечтал здесь пожить и вот удалось так спланировать путешествие, чтобы переночевать в Шато Мере.
Большой и уютный номер, шикарный вид с балкона на волшебный сад усадьбы и Алазанскую долину.
Очень вкусная кухня в ресторане и бесподобное вино!

Our stay left an extremely unpleasant impression: poor service, no proper welcome, problems with water, and unacceptable

Unfortunately, our stay at this château was very disappointing and far from what we expected from a wine château/hotel.

From the very beginning, the welcome felt strange and rather indifferent. We expected that upon arrival we would be offered at least some basic introduction to the property, the château, the vineyards, and the wine experience. We also expected that dinner and, most importantly, a wine tasting of the château’s own wines would be arranged or at least offered to us. Instead, we were simply given the keys to our room. No one helped us with a heavy suitcase, and there was no real welcome or explanation of what guests can do at the property.

The first room we were given had a serious problem: there was no working water, neither in the toilet nor in the shower. We immediately informed the staff about this issue and then left for the city for about four hours, expecting that the problem would be resolved by the time we returned. However, when we came back, the technicians were only then trying to fix it, and they told us that they had been informed about the problem only five minutes earlier.

As a result, we were moved to another room. Unfortunately, this room was also unacceptable. In the bedside table, we found used cotton swabs, and in the toilet there was feces. This was absolutely shocking and unacceptable for any hotel, especially for a property positioning itself as a château and wine destination.

When we politely told the administrator that we had expected a warmer reception and a wine tasting experience, especially since we had asked about it several days before our arrival, we were simply told that we had not booked anything. No one offered us any solution, no wine, no tasting, no alternative experience, and no gesture of apology.

Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. The service was cold and inattentive, the room conditions were unacceptable, and the staff did not seem interested in making guests feel welcome.
