Casa Grande Mountain Retreat - Adults Only

Overpriced and unhelpful staff. Charged me $8 for a single espresso. I ordered it at the coffee shop, but got sent to reception to pay because I’d already checked out. Paid at reception, walked back to the coffee shop and got rewarded with a service charge on top, for my efforts. It was obviously also cold by the time I’d done all this. I was just after a little takeaway pick me up for the long drive to the coast, having just spent hundreds on overpriced food, a nice gesture would’ve been a complimentary coffee.
There’s very little options in the surrounding area, so you’re kind of forced to eat at the hotel. $30 for breakfast basket “for two” which consisted of one croissant, one small bread roll, a couple of spreads and a sad slice of ham and cheese is a joke. Wouldn’t stay again… which is a shame as it’s a nice hotel otherwise.

Goed restaurant maar vrij prijzig. Ik miste een douche bij het zwembad en de gelegenheid in de kamer om iets op te hangen.

Snídaně byla dobrá, mohlo být ale více jídla.

We enjoyed our stay so much, it was the highlight of our holiday there was nothing much to not like! Only that we could not stay long enough.

L'endroit est isolé alors c'est tout son charme mais tu es quand même un peu obligé de manger là-bas parce que c'est difficile d'accès pour faire des allées retours. Mais c'est vraiment ce qu'on cherche.

Construction noise first thing in the morning :( Not sure that can be avoided until they are finished expanding. The room was also cold in the evenings. An extra blanket on hand would have been nice. We requested one for the 2nd night. Overall, the place is amazing.

The dinner menu was extremely limited. There are no nearby alternatives. Bring plenty of snacks if staying more than 2 nights.

Food options - particularly vegetarian and pescatarian options - were surprisingly limited, especially for a multi-day stay. The kitchen used to be entirely veg, but it seems they pivoted a bit too far towards meat, and didn't vary the offerings much. Breakfast and lunch at the cafe were the same menu with no daily specials to offer variety. Dinner menu also didn't change, even on a busy weekend. So, I got the one item I could and then had to leave to find food elsewhere to avoid repeats. There aren't a ton of dining options nearby, and they're not the highest quality places. There aren't kitchen in the rooms either, so options are very limited.

Morning Yoga class was alright. Very beginner - slow and relaxing but not much flow or exercise. It is an extra charge now where I think it used to be free. I wish they offered different experience levels or types of classes.

Kind of miss the more hippie vibes from a few years ago, but understand the need to make it more approachable to the masses.
