The hotel was nicely decorated and the food was lovely. The artwork by the local artists was a nice touch. The bedrooms were a good size. The black room could be furnished with a mirror.
The beds were quite low which made it difficult for one of our party to get in and out of bed. It was not an issue for the rest of us.
Lovely local pub with very good accommodation. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Our suite was on the top floor but very spacious and comfortable with lovely views. Good location with access to bus or Park and Ride.
Nothing to complain about.
beautiful location
the bed was very low & not that comfortable!
The tv was very small but would have been better wall mounted
Het was prima voor een nachtje.
Bed was erg zacht en ik vind overal tapijt altijd wat vies, aangezien je dat nooit goed schoon kunt maken.
A beautiful village pub, in a rural location. Very clean in the public areas and our room was very clean and comfortable. Fabulous cooked breakfast, with a number of different options.
Is nit a didn’t like, but as we were there in very hot weather it would have been nice if there was a fan in the room.
The view from the window was outstanding
Nothing
Staff were helpful and friendly. The place had a great atmosphere. Breakfast was superb.
A few areas in room needed a dust over
Very friendly excellent brekkie and alwyn was good entertainment
The property was away from the main buzz of Whitby but a few minutes on a bus or taxi. Best of both worlds
The carpets needed a deep clean to freshen the halls and stairs. Needed a little tlc to get full marks.
Top notch breakfast included, absolutely beautiful. Staff were super friendly, a real home from home. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent pub, comfy room and great location out of town and peaceful.
Very minor gripe but the TV screen was the size of a laptop and was difficult to view...but then again we didn't go away for a break to watch TV!
Excellent. Ideal location. Staff were lovely . Food Excellent. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff, good food and excellent breakfast.
Great location. Peaceful but close to Whitby. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location friendly staff lovely breakfast
Nothing
The breakfast was very good and the lady providing it was great.
Cleanliness outside. Perhaps a good sweep around. The mattress in room 6 was horrendous …..we could feel all the springs. There were no hangers at all in the wardrobe and no lock on the bathroom door. Fire regulations were only partially filled in. The 9.3 rating so prominently displayed was from 2016!!! Too many stairs to room six and we had asked for rooms together. The rooms next to my sister in Room 1 appeared to be empty. Last but not least I banged my head on the low ceiling when trying to look out of the low bedroom window.
It was only a short drive from the town centre. It has a lovely cosy pub and a great view from our window.
The food was great as well as the staff.
We were in room 3 and my only complaint is that the bed was extremely uncomfortable, consequently we didn’t get much sleep.
The room was lovely, with a fab view out over the moors.
The staff were fabulous and friendly.
The food was fantastic, both the evening meals and the cooked breakfasts.
Small things, but a few hangers in the wardrobe would have been really useful, as would a bottle of shampoo to go with the body wash provided.
Food... excellent. Staff...... excellent. Room......good but a few tweaks would make it excellent too.
Noisiest bed I've ever slept in but it was comfortable. No toilet roll holder.
