Close to the harbour & great views
Couldn't really fault it.
However no mugs for the coffee machines provided.
It did say within the booking there was a communal kitchen, but we couldn't find it.
Excellent location
No car parking at property
Location and view
Poor and unreliable wifi
There was no breakfast and difficult to find somewhere that did breakfast before 10 am
I didn’t like how although it was stated there was no parking at property it did say plenty of nearby parking which was not true mainly residential parking and town car park was 3 hours maximum stay, no good if your having a drink and nearest long stay was other side of town with a badly lit alley to play with after parking(£10.50)per night
The views from the property are amazing. It’s right in the harbour with shops, bars and restaurants near by.
Breakwater pebbled beach is a short walk along the harbour with beautiful crystal clear water and a bar/restaurant and toilets.
In the other direction is fishCombe pebbled beach with a little cafe.
A short walk to the town centre and you get get a bus to Goodrington Sands, Paignton and Torquay.
You can also take a stroll up to Berry Head, and enjoy lunch/afternoon tea on the way back in the Berry Head hotel, which has stunning views across Torbay.
The room had a coffee machine, kettle and fridge but no cups, plates or cutlery. There was a communal kitchen, first come first served, but the cups weren’t deep enough to hold the amount of water dispensed from the automatic kettle. The cutlery and cups were also stained. It’s not a huge expense to provide each room with two cups, cutlery and plates, most people would be having a cuppa for breakfast.
There’s a lovely roll top bath but no bath plug, we rang and left a message and contacted the agency but no one rang back until the day before we were coming home, even then we didn’t get the bath plug.
The bed spread was also dirty.
All little points that were disappointing and could have been avoided
Great room, fabulous view of the harbour without the noise that normally goes with it. Wonderful spotless bathroom, wished we were there longer to take full advantage of it. Great staff, really welcoming and helpful.
Location and views from room were excellent. Accommodation is very chic, modern and well maintained.
Unfortunately couldn't get free Wi-Fi to connect as password provided was repeatedly rejected as incorrect on three different devices we tried but that was a minor inconvenience. We were able to get some intermittent 4g/5g on phones in room at times. Certainly didn't ruin the holiday and wouldn't stop me staying at Maritime again!
Location was central but NO free parking. Loading and unloading my car with our bags was difficult.
Bathroom was far larger than needed. If I had been designing this room, I would have had at least a metre longer bedroom, with a correspondingly smaller bathroom. And, really, I would only expect wash basin(s) and a shower. The free-standing bath was quite unnecessary. This would have enabled a small kitchen basin to be fitted in the bedroom, and also a larger table than the tiny one provided. The irritations were mainly concerned with the breakfast. Nowhere to prepare it / cook it. And all the crockery and cutlery was on the ground floor shared utility room. Then, nowhere to sit down and eat it.
The tiny refrigerator was enclosed inside a wooden kitchen unit. The operating instructions for it clearly state that THIS REFRIGERATOR IS NOT TO BE ENCLOSED. Yes, there is a little ventilation grill. At the bottom of the cupboard. But, as hot air rises, this was of little use. I would be surprised if this arrangement meets the fire safety standards. I propped open the wooden cupboard door, to be safe. The fridge was tiny and poorly thought out.
Really comfy bed and modern decor
We feel this property was opened in a hurry. The shower door does not close properly, not enough towels and although self catering I feel for the price would should have had more than one towel each for 3 nights. No coffee cups in room, no complimentary bottles of water. Feel this should be standard. No blind in bathroom so couldn’t open window as people could see in. No shelf over bath to put your shampoo, shower gel etc. The temperature tap in shower does not work and handle comes off same on the cold tap on one of the sinks.
A number of snagging problems we feel were not addressed before making this properly available.
The location was fab - the room decor, bedding, bathroom was done to a very high standard - nice coffee machine and a very nice kept utility room on the bottom floor for use of cups, glasses, plates, iron and board, washer/dryer, kettle, ice machine, microwave
No toilet roll top up or fresh towels provided - no WIFI
Check in 4pm - checkout 8-10 !
Most annoying is the fact they had arranged for the carpets to be cleaned in the other rooms everyday throughout are stay, this was an awful noise and no privacy in our room with the men up and down the stairs and next door. The day of our checkout we are woken at 8.30ish with them trying to gain entry to start cleaning the carpet in our room, said they were told we would be gone by now, we had planned to checkout at 10am the latest advised, as we had a late night celebrating my partners 50th birthday and a long journey ahead of us- so very rushed packing up and getting out - in general the communication lacks
Coastal properties send you a lovely departure text the morning before too!!! - so for a moment you think you have mucked up your booking and a day short !!!!
The weather was lovely but the heating was constantly on in the bathroom, you have to close the windows at bedtime due to the traffic noise outside
