Spacious room, nice hosts, quiet street (generally)
I wanted to try staying in this neighborhood so found this very inexpensive homestay that booking.com said has a “washing machine.” It is facing a smaller street near restaurants but somewhat removed from the bustling center of Dalat. The street is quieter than the bigger streets but the insulation in room 3 did not keep any sound out. There are some small holes in the doors, interior and exterior, and I could hear every sound as if people and their vehicle sounds were in the room with me. The room is spacious, bright and as shown in photos. The bed was reasonably comfortable and clean. The first day I needed to get some work done and there is a writing desk with a chair and I tried to work but the building nextdoor is undergoing complete renovation (Dec 30 2024, going at least another 3-6 months I would wager) and pounding, hammering, drilling sounds echoed throughout the house all day until well after 9pm as workers pounded on the structure. I mean the wall in my room shook and vibrated as they were just on the other side of it. Loud loud pounding. The hot water works (and is necessary in Dalat) and there is a kettle so I made hot drinks and worked much of the day with earphones and mindfulness and deep breathing. When the hammering finally stopped at around 9:30pm, a very loud family occupied the next room and tried to open my door. There seemed to be 4-5 Vietnamese people, mainly teenagers, staying in the room next to mine with one bed and several of them were often sitting in the hall a few feet from my door, which has cracks one can see through. I opened the door twice so they could see someone who might want quiet was there, but that night there was a lot of loud noise and it sounded like someone left in the middle of the night dragging a large suitcase thumping down the stairs during the wee hours. There is no elevator, no washing machine, no TV remote, no drinking water provided. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable and host was nice.
The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the location is great, very close to lots of good restaurants.
The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. The windows and door are not sealed so it was impossible to keep the noise and more importantly the mosquitos out! We had a terrible sleep so left after 1 night unfortunately.
I really liked the lady who owns the property with her husband. I only met the husband once and he was really nice, but I saw his wife daily and she was such an awesome person.
Nothing I can really think of. It was a good stay all around.
Very friendly staff
Room big, space for my rented motorbike & if you don't want to drive everything Is within walking distance in the centre
Great location, family was very hospitable. Room and bathroom were clean. I enjoyed the old brass doorhandles and finishes. It was on a quiet side street without too much noise.
Not a fan of how hard Vietnamese people like their mattresses but that's not really a knock against the property itself if that's the norm!
Nice enough, but fairly unremarkable. Bed, balcony, bathroom, the three b's of hotel success. Overlooking a nice quiet street, the price was good, and the hosts were fairly friendly and accommodating.
A few stains on the sheets. Room and bathroom could have been cleaner.
I found this to be a nice place to stay, the owner was very helpful (even picked me up on her motorcycle when I had difficulty finding the place) and there are a few restaurants nearby. It's a little bit outside the central part of Da Lat, but is within walking distance of there if you want to explore. I quite liked the balcony in my room as well.
This isn't so much something I disliked, it's more something that I think is necessary for people booking here to know - the address system is a bit weird in this part of Dalat. You have the main road, Duong Mac Dinh Chi, where businesses will have addresses of no. 37, 38, etc. for that road. However, near the end of the road there are a couple of streets between the main road and the river which go by the same name as the main road, but have A, B, or C in front of the number (further up the alphabet as you move away from the main road). For example, this homestay is at A39 Duong Mac Dinh Chi - it's not on the main road, it's on the street *behind* the main road. Anyways, I hope this is helpful.
Also, because it's a fairly small place there's no lift, only stairs - good for travellers with limited mobility to know.
Hotel was clean and host was welcoming.
The bed was far too hard for me. I asked for a spare duvet which I folded in 4 to sleep on but it was still uncomfortable.
Host did not speak English so we did our best with Google translate
Not home stay it’s motel reality , but it’s worth what you pay for
