The grounds were amazing! Beautiful jungle plants, landscaped for privacy in each bungalow and well maintained. The view of the volcano cannot be beat! The incredible breakfast also had a fantastic view of the outdoors.
There are no complaints from me.
Loved this hotel. So special being right under the volcano! The rooms/cabins were incredible and I loved that you had no neighbour noise as the cabins are all separate ! Breakfast was 10/10 loved the egg chef! Also we saw a mummy and baby Toucan from breakfast one morning, super special!! Also the rooms were so clean!! I didn’t see a single bug in my room the whole time i was there, I was quite nervous as I hate bugs but it was so clean I didn’t need to worry. The bathroom was also stunning! I could have lived in there…. Pool area was also beautiful, chilling in the sheltered hot tub when it was raining was so peaceful
Nothing..
Food was great! Breakfast was ok but in their defense we didn’t get there when it was all fresh. Lunch and dinner items were really great. I especially enjoyed the birria taco and my son had a pasta dish with white sauce and bacon that he absolutely loved. The staff were wonderful, responsive and very helpful with unraveling troubles we had with scheduling activities. If I had gone through the hotel to schedule our activities it would have gone much better so use the offered concierge for tours and other fun things to do!
There are gaps under the doors to the outside. The bungalows are pretty much IN the rainforest so you are quite literally cohabitating with the natural environment. Not sure if it is an air circulation issue to have it that way but ants, a giant beetle of some kind got in and a total invasion of moths occurred one night due to us stupidly leaving the deck light on after dark. Needless to say most travelers aren’t ok with that kind of thing, so any efforts to block the gap under the doors might help to prevent their entrance? After the moths came in we tried to block the doors but ants still made it in. I think encounters with insects are not avoidable in Costa Rica so you have to accept this to some extent. If you can’t you should book with a fancy resort or hotel and not try to get up close to the rainforest. In fairness we went during rainy season & while a major storm was going through the region so there was lots of rain to stir up the bugs!
Le beauté du site.
La gentillesse des employés.
Rien
The heated pool with the in pool bar was lovely. A large property with our own hut and golf cart transport. The staff, extremely friendly and helpful.
Perfect location, beautiful scenery and friendly staff
The room and in general is a luxury hotel
Everything
We really enjoyed this property and would recommend it highly. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We arrived early and our rooms were available right away. Both the restaurant onsite and the breakfast were of good quality and there were a lot of breakfast choices. The fresh fruits (including mango and papaya) were standouts. Our rooms were comfortable with nice views into the forest - we were able to see a number of birds, mammals, and large iguanas (in trees) from our porch - which was a bonus for our wildlife-oriented group. Also lots of colorful birds on the beautiful grounds - parrots, toucans, etc. Two of our group had massages at the spa and thought they were among the best they’d had. Finally, the pools were wonderful - after visiting one of the hot springs, we preferred the warm and cold pools onsite. All in all a great visit.
Could have used more coffee in the room.
