Large and clean but noisy
Pros:

The room was large and the beds were clean and comfortable. The TV worked with good reception on all channels. Fresh towels were left on the beds ready for use.

Cons:

We were in room 12 which looks over the major intersection, with trucks constantly rumbling past including their exhaust brakes. I had ear plugs but I could still hear the trucks all night. The shared bathroom and kitchen were neat but the hallway floor creaked so loud (expected in an old pub?). Luckily it felt like we were the only people there as I got up early to go to the toilet then have a coffee and it was hard to keep the noise down. I might have been better value for money if it wasn't so noisy all night. Maybe consider providing free ear plugs on the pillow. No facilities in the room to make a coffee but the kitchen was right outside our room.

I strongly recommend this Hotel for simply good affordable accommodation clean bedroom and bathrooms

Pros:

The motel downstairs was closed I was the only client for the motel and was not comfortable staying in a big old pub on my own. Karen from management placed me in another motel in town Broadway Motel which was much better, pub was open with good staff and great steak. .

Cons:

Parkes hotel is dated, no floor coverings in room,, no clients, eerie being only person. Thanks Karen for moving me.

Great little town , great choice of accommodation.
Pros:

Staff were exceptional, they manage 5 properties and are very obliging helping. Bed super comfy. This property is accommodation only. The hotel side isn't open at the moment.

My Stay in Parkes
Pros:

Comfortable bed ...nice decor...lovely clean bathroom area... receptionist was patient and helpful and kind.

Cons:

The numbers were hard to see in night light on the combination to open the door if one hasn't got the reading glasses at hand. No doubt the person who does not need glasses will find it far easier.

Everything except one thing, it has been great.

Cons:

There was only one thing I had a problem with (and that may be because, I'm a 64 year old pensioner with arthritis) the stairs were a problem for me as I'm not as steady on my feet as I used to be, however I realize, there is not a lot that the proprieters can do about that. I did meet one woman, I asked her if she was the owner and she said she was 2nd in charge, she was very helpful and helped me access the free wifi and helped me book another 5 nights I can' remember her name, although the owners will know who I'm talking about. She asked me to let her know if there was anything she could help me with, to just ask. In fact when I said I couldn't work out how to access the wifi, she said she'd come straight over. I appreciated the attention and dedication to, looking after the tenant. Sorry most of this review
should have gone in "What I Did Like" instead of "What I Didn't Like". I hope the owners like my review.

Quick Cheap Stay in Parkes
Pros:

Nice quick self check in.

Cons:

The entrance is via an Iron Back Stairs, which could be risky for the elderly and kids, especially during rain. / The pub below does not operate.
