The view was spectacular - nothing beats it!! It is so peaceful! The staff were very kind, hospitable and helpful. If you want to experince a traditional and peaceful stay- this is the place to be.
When the temperature is too hot, the rooms get warm. However in temperate weather - it's a great place to stay!
We loved the views and the owners hospitality. You also get homemade chapatis here so make sure you ask for them.
Charming rustic eco-retreat in fabulous location for the young at heart and adventurous of spirit. Buckets of character with rare mud-and-clay construction. The views and location are just truly spectacular. Aesthetically very appealing rooms. Clean bed linen and very comfortable beds and pillows. Perfect old-world hospitality from a very accomplished and caring host who went above and beyond to arrange our 4x4 AC car and driver for trip to Satpara Lake, Deosai top as well as the Cold Desert for para-motoring at the very reasonable rate of Rs.27,000. We felt very welcomed, safe and truly looked after. Host himself picked us up from airport and dropped us off to it in his well-loved old jeep, especially waiting to ensure we made our flight. He is a true raconteur and was so paternalistic with us all, taking the time to chat with my children who deeply appreciated his gentle sense of humour, kindness, warmth, knowledge of and involvement with environmental work, film-making and local history - giving us the once-in-a-lifetime kind of holiday experience one wishes for all one’s travels. Staff nice. Really enjoyed their omelettes and parathas in particular.
Cleaning needs improvement. Menu could do with some variety. Breakfast doesn’t appear to be included. No AC in rooms which is only a problem during unusually hot days.
the location was great - at the edge of a desert, surrounded by stunning views of mountains. The place was clean, rustic and quiet.
the photos/description suggested that it's a proper hotel with a range of services. Instead, it's a tiny place - a homestay with lots of electricity interruptions, poor internet, minimal services, no English speakers. It is located at the end of a residential area, difficult to find, especially due to poor internet connection in the area. We couldn't reach them by phone either.
It was totally opposite as for the pictures and comments of different people
First of all there is no way to the property we have to go through the desert to reach there & while returning from it one of our car was stuck in the sand.
Secondly it's not as shown in the pictures it was totally opposite the uncompleted building and the smelly rooms
And the third worse thing is that there is no active kitchen in it as up this property is not as it was described i recommend booking.com to reconsider this property so that the travellers couldn't suffer.
One thing i appreciate is the conversation with the owner he was polite and said no problem if you don't want to stay over night we will accommodate you complementary for 1 2 hours asup you travelled a lot to reach here and secondly upon our request he accepted free cancellation.
Non
The washrooms were okay
The location is really hard to reach and there was no facility for food and the staff just told us go eat somewhere else such a disappointing experience we literally had to move to avari in middle of night
Overall good
Overall good
The hotel has an excellent location. From your room and during breakfast, you can enjoy views of the Karakum Mountains and the Iundus River beyond the hotel. In the morning, you’ll hear birds singing and the melodious voices from the nearby village school.
Transport negotiation.
The location was breathtaking; the staff went out of their way to make sure they tended to our needs; the odd request that was made was met immediately. The manager kept in touch , even though he was suffering from ill health and in a totally different location.. the breakfast was also of good standard..
We made amazing memories and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go away for a few weeks vacation.
We were also impressed with the knowledge about travelling to excursions to further our experience during our stay ..
There was nothing not to like ..
Breakfast was good. Peaceful and picturesque surroundings is beauty’s of resort
Improve the interior setting of resort
Baltistan Fort is a lovely, quaint, traditionally constructed with balti-style adobe and woodwork. Its a perfect blend of tradition and modern comfort. Location-wise the area is one of the best in Skardu; with 360 views of the mountains being my favorite part. The rooms with large windows, have unreal vistas of katpana and the mountains!
The Host, Rashid Sami, was incredibly hospitable and kind and catered to all the details very smoothly; not to mention his counterpart the beautiful, loving, friendly Himalayan cat was the perfect cozy addition and offered a home away from home feeling! Will definitely come and stay here again! inshAllah!

Excellent location in an historic restored old fort. It has wonderful views and is close to Skardu airport
Lack of hot water spasmodic internet and inability to pay with credit/debit card.
I booked this hotel by looking at reviws which were NOT reality based, road to facility is dirt road with ditches up to 3 ft, i was greeted by construction workers, laundy was hanging outside, room itself is tight and old structure.I asked my driver to make a u turn and found a lot better hotel in the same price.I lost my trust on booking.com and ratings.
VIEW was ok with water heaters in the front building along with mountains and river valley.NOT A WELL MAINTAINED FACILITY
nothing
A cosy guesthouse with a beautiful view of the valley. We enjoyed the kitchen, Balti dishes were tasty. The peaceful view from the windows was very relaxing after the dusty Skardu.
