It’s okay, a lot of improvement to be done to make the stay worth the money.
Pros:

Beautiful and clean property with friend staff and good service. Breakfast is good! Front desk response and assistance is prompt.

Cons:

The WiFi is HORRIBLE. Too many restrictions and low capped bandwidth. Cannot make a phone call using WiFi without it being interrupted.
Self catering units have almost no self catering equipment, basic equipment to cook needs to be requested, cutlery, crockery this is a huge inconvenience

Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff, great pool area and setting in general. Quiet and comfortable room.

Cons:

We had a good breakfast but initially an incorrect meal was delivered. There were also mix-ups at supper.

Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Duke. It is beautiful , clean and the service is amazing. We were welcomed by friendly staff members who made our stay very comfortable.

A good place for a one night stopover.
Pros:

The hotel is a nice place for a stopover.
The room was very large and in the old fashioned style. The bed was comfortable and the linen was of a good quality.
The restaurant was very pleasant and the staff were extremely friendly.

Cons:

Not many outside sitting spaces near the room. Only some very uncomfortable looking wooden benches.

It was great except for the 24th of December issue.
Pros:

The breakfast and staff were great

Cons:

There was no one at the reception to open on the 24th of December. Their night porter did not work so I had to book an alternative place 60kms away from Bedford as it was the only place that took my call in the early hours. I must say though they rectified the situation the next day by extending my booking by a day. Thanks to the supervisor with dreadlocks. I just forgot his name.

I loved my stay
Pros:

it is worth the price

Cons:

I had a booking that requested that it be kept for later use. upon arrival i was told that booking.com have cancelled my booking and i have forfeited my money. I was advised of the cancellation until i arrived at the hotel. that is unprofessional until today booking.com or the hotel have not advised me in writing about my 1 night booking reservation money.

Relaxing 2-night stay
Pros:

We stayed in Farmer, a luxury room away from the main hotel. It was clean and spacious, with a comfortable king-size bed, bath and shower, and a veranda looking onto a pretty garden. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and old-fashioned decor. The breakfasts and dinners served in the dining room were delicious, and all the staff were welcoming and attentive. Nice to have a boutique selling clothes and gifts on site. My husband really enjoyed a swim in the well-maintained pool. All in all, a memorable visit to Bedford.

Cons:

It would be useful to have hooks behind doors for jackets etc.
We were disappointed that the spa was closed over the weekend.
