Great location, good value.
Pros:

The rooms are in an old hotel and, as such, are dated but very comfortable and good value for the price. Although the rooms are entered throug the beer garden, very little noise penetrates as they have a small foyer with another door that closes off the bedroom. The hotel is close to everything in this small village and has a few pool tables in the beer garden. The atmosphere in the pub itself is welcoming and the staff are very obliging.

Comfortable and cosy stay in the heart of Gulgong
Pros:

We are a family of four (two adults and two kids) and stayed in the cottage for a few days. We found it very comfortable, warm, and cosy. The hotel is in a prime central location, right in the heart of Gulgong. The bistro food is amazing, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this accommodation to any small family looking for a cost‑effective and comfortable stay.

Cons:

One night, a few pub‑goers became quite loud around 10:30pm, which woke us up. The staff were responsive and managed the situation for us. Just sharing this as a reminder that the accommodation is attached to a pub, so if you’re expecting complete peace and quiet, you may not always get it!

Beds were very comfortable. Pillows very good.

Cons:

No housekeeping for 3 night stay.
No hob on shower. Shower curtain.
Tiny sink with absolutely nowhere for toiletries. Difficult to fill kettle. Nowhere to hang wet towels.
New vanity would make a big improvement.
